Silent Hill 4: The Room

Been playing this for a while. I'm really glad the game is preserved and on GOG's back catolgue. That being said, this is easily the worse game out of the original four games from Team Silent. Story is mid, gameplay is boring most of the time with many "What do I do, where do I go" moments, the apartment itself is kinda boring and the things that happen around it. The game looks and sounds good, I'll give it that. Also, the limited inventory and some enemy encounters were actually neat concepts (don't want to spoil). Wish the game would have done more with those ideas. This even has full controller support that works relatively well. It's an okay game. Don't go into this expecting an amazing game. It's an okay survival horror game, and you know what? That's okay.

Honestly a lot of what turned me off about this game when it came out was the controls, the gog release fixes that. The QOL updates really make this the definitive release for me.

nice one, runs smooth in 2k and no troubles with a xbox controller.

This is the best way to play the game in 2025. love this game, i hope one day i can buy the other old silent hill games on here.

mine just keeps crashing. my system is more than capable of running this game but it crashes every cutscene. unplayable
