Since my Atari days to now, this game is always in my top 3 of all time. It is sad that the outdated graphics will prevent newer generations from picking up this amazingly rich game. I can still name all the factions by heart after so many years, which goes to show how colourfully written they were.

This is my favorite game. Ever. I still have my original copy, and I play it still. Every year it sucks me back in and I play it obsessively for months. After that, I put it away 'til the next year. I think it is even better than Civilization.

Sid Meier doesn't know how to make a bad game. This has the 4X's, with very deep strategy. Turn based strategy at its best.

After all the years since its release, this game stands the test of time. My only "gripe," perhaps, is that they could have included the expansion with this. Nonetheless, a lot of fun to play... again.
