You play Sanjuro Makabe, a Mobile Combat Armor (MCA) pilot and Commander in the UCA Security Force. The UCA was originally formed by three dominant megacorporations (Andra Biomechanics, Armacham Technology Corporation, and Shogo Industries). Originally intended as a joint venture that would ensure the continued profitability of the three organizations that founded it, the UCA is now independent, and the dominant military power in existence.
Your mission is to locate and assassinate a rebel leader known only as Gabriel. All of the action takes place either on the planet Cronus or on the spaceship Leviathan. The Leviathan is the flagship of the UCA and is commanded by Admiral Akkaraju. Cronus is the only known source of the biologically active material known as Kato, an incredibly powerful energy source essential to the process by which interstellar travel is possible.
Your deadly enemy is The Fallen, a fanatical terrorist group lead by the mysterious Gabriel, threatens the balance of power on Cronus, and ultimately, control of Kato. You will fight them on your feet or from within one of the different types of Mobile Combat Armor, a giant mech which can run, duck, strafe, swim or transform into an ultrafast hovertank.
You will know the true power of giant robots!
Anime-influenced graphics and gameplay design
Fight on foot or pilot a giant mech in both open and urban environments
An interesting storyline with two possible endings
I bought SHOGO years ago from a thrift-store. The game is brilliant, weather your stomping around in your massive robot suit, blowing up cars and other massive robots and jumping on top of buildings, or if your on foot, infiltrating shady organisations. It's a product of its time, so it doesn't have all the great features of modern FPS games, but it's a great game if all you want to do is blow shit up.
I Remember this from when it was first released it was an enjoyable game with great graphics and sound and played really well. I Loved the way the game played with the various missins.
Playing it today the game still plays well in fact plays really fast. The graphics have aged well wont tax the modern pc but for a 10 year old game it still stands up well.
First thing though you need to reconfigure the controls funny how you get so used to modern pc games controls that when you go back to older games with the keys all over the place you are amazed you could play it.
Sound is good with meaty explosions and the music is fine although does get repetitive after a while.
Gameplay is still fantastic lots of fast action and a lot of fun.
Overall a great game and for the money you must buy it if your into FPS or big robot combat
Game barely operates unless you know how to hotfix the game to run on modern machines. Windows 8 and 10 are becoming more common on new machines. This game needs proper support to be compatible with modern PCs
Shogo is a pretty decent game. I think the game is made on Blood 2 engine, the graphics are OK, no fireworks there. The game play itself is almost identical to most FPS. In Shogo you sometimes play inside a mech and some missions are as a regular person. If you love FPS games, I think you will like Shogo as well.
