classic but modern shooter

Wang's stupid wisecracks kept me smiling from start to finish, and the variety of melee and ranged combat and the loot that dropped from it was satisfying enough that I came back with friends for more. It's great fun in solo or in co-op, and its small degree of randomization is enough to keep the action fresh for at least a few runs.

Shadow Warrior 2 is a beautiful, fast-paced shooter with a ton of guns. There's an RPG-like layer of additional skills and extensive weapon customization, a great cast of characters, and nothing to get in the way of pure reckless shooting. And when you're done with the campaign, there's four difficulty levels, New Game+, and co-op play waiting for you.

A Must Own
This game is super amazong from the action, to the weapons customization, to the story. Lo Wang is one of my favorite smartass anti-hero who's quotes could rival my other favorite anti-here, the merc with a mouth. Word to the wise, PAY ATEENTION to your skills, weapons mods, AND enemy strenghts and weaknesses. I've taken out super demons with a hand pitol with the right mod after wasting tons of ammo with a shotgun with the wrong mod. The skills are also cool, and you can taylor your skill set from baddass devensive, to supper offensive and anywhere in between. Anyone who dosen't own this game will die scared and alone, regretting not having owned this game or met Lo Wang. Cause when you mess with the bull, you get the Wang!! Ok, time to find new ammo riends, thre are more bad guys to kill.

It's... Okay I guess.
It's not bad, but not that great. I suppose a FPS mixed with some RPG-ish elements. Fighting is fine, run around, shoot & kill. Story is alright. Dialogue is meh. I think it tries too hard to be it's predecessor which was a linear hack n slash. Also, expect some minor Doom style key hunts at times. For me the whole upgrade weapons with stat modifiers that you constantly (and I mean constantly) pick up just didn't do it for me. The plethora of weapons got wasted on me. Once I found some good weapons, the others didn't get used at all. If it's on special, it might be OK. 3.6 / 5 - Not great, not terrible.

High octane fun
Take 80's badass action hero, add funny one-liners, tons and tons of testosterone, awesome guns, shiny sharp blades, fluent movement and incredible blood pumping - testosterone summoning soundtrack and you have this game. It's what every man needs in his life.

Lo Wang is your new best friend
I am very familiar with Shadow Warrior 2013 so I kind of expected the same type of action and game play in Shadow Warrior 2. I was not disappointed. Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital delivered, and loads of it! If you are a fan of SW 2013 you do not need to hesitate. You will like this one. Something that really hit me in the face was how big the levels were. You do not feel limited to a straight line to the next objective, instead you can roam around how you please on your way there. Levels are detailed like crazy and very open. With all that and the atmospheric effects, bloom and the gorgeous vegetation, the overall feel creates some very beautiful scenery. Sometimes you want to stand still and just look at it before moving on to slicing the next demon. The amount of weapons you can choose from is enormous, enabling the player to use the arsenal that works so well just for you. Razorback katana, my sweet lovely treasure. Seeing you do your thing is what makes me love you. Lo Wang's comments are hilarious. You get to hear them now and then after neutralizing demons. Hearing him discuss things with the NPC's is an absolute joy. The use of sound is very well made. Not only are the swords very pleasing to use when seeing what destruction they do, but also the sound they make and that makes you feel powerful. Heavy dynamic music very fitting for Shadow Warrior, I must say. The one thing that I find confusing is the upgrades. There are just too many to choose from and you get new ones all the time. In time you don't care what upgrade you just found, you just keep using whatever upgrades you currently have. Would I recommend Shadow Warrior 2? Oh yes! Am I looking forward to Flying Wild Hog's and Devolver Digital's next work? Oh yes!
