Demon slashing fun

Shadow Warrior is a fast paced, brutal first person shooter set in a world overrun by a demonic invasion. As Lo Wang the player has to shoot, slash and fight his way through hordes of enemies with a variety of weapons like SMGs, a flamethrower and even a Katana, while always having a cheesy one-liner at hand straight from action movies of the 80s. A great soundtrack and visuals complete the experience. As a negative point I would have to point out that the game can glitch out and crash every now and then.

Underrated title

This game brought back arena shooting before DOOM (2015) did it, the story is suprisingly good, Lo Wangs character development is enjoyable as he goes from straight up dick to real hero. 4/5 stars

It is to SW what Forever was to Nukem...

Except Shadow Warrior was never as good as Nukem in first place. Gameplay feels like bad Jedi Knight clone, with rudimentary swordplay and not-Force-really powers. The guns are there but ammo is scarce, so the half-baked Jedi Knight is going to be large part of experience. The enemies are dumb and game throws them at you by bucketload, in closed arenas, before unlocking the door to next room where experience repeats. There are attempts at humour, but like everything else they are effort half made. There are attempts as story behind to tie one chamber of monsters with another, but while original Shadow Warrior had hilarious excuse plot that never treated itself seriously, here the authors cannot decide if they want to treat plot seriously or not; the result is artificial mix that is neither funny nor involving. Whole thing feels like elements were developed just rudimentary enough to check all boxes: sworplay - check, guns - check, upgrades - check, powers - check, jokes - check, story - check, enemies - check, levels - check, without making any of these interesting. Either play real Shadow Warrior or real Jedi Knight.

Fun game, but guns suck

Crossbow is THE best weapon besides the katana. Rocket launcher is far too slow, shotgun is weaker than the pistol, flamethrower is worthless, SMG is good to spray into big targets, demon head laser moves very slowly. What a shame, the game actually looks good and inspired Doom 2016's secrets.

Fantastic

WOW! I haven't seen anything so fresh in PC shooters for a long time! The only thing I'd like to add here : multiplayer could be awesome, if developers decided to implement it.
