Mac guy here. Plays awesome on my 5k iMac (late 2014).
This is game is incredible. You don't need a super fast computer to play it. The story, the stealth, game play, all of it is highly polished.
This game is a gem. Great level design and story, I have enjoyed each unique level with its several ways to complete it. I hope Mimimi Productions can make other game like this!
As someone who loved the original Desperados but hated what they did in the 2 sequels, this game is exactly what I was hoping for the genre. It is clearly a labor of love by people who know what made this genre so special. Just as Desperados took the Commandos formula and improved it in almost every way, Shadow Tactics did the same with the original Desperados. I am very happy that the same developers created Desperados 3 and I hope they continue the same path.
If you played commandos and liked it, you will love this. The story is good, especially after the first missions since you'll see the bonds between the characters and the current history. The gameplay is solid, you'll definitely save and load a lot because planning is essential to this game but sometimes you'll have to run and hope for the best. I encountered no bugs.
My suggestion: it gets better mission after mission, so play at least 3 missions at the start if you don't like it too much
I haven't played a game that "gets it right" as much as this one in decades, honestly. It is incredibly rare that a style of gameplay gets revived in this fashion and manages to pull everything off *this* well. It is apparent to me that the people that made Shadow Tactics simply "gets it" when it comes to this type of game, and it is incredibly reminiscent of the core gameplay of the old Commandos games, but updated and transposed into a different setting without breaking anything that was great with those old games.
Really, this feels like a labor of love and is an absolute joy to play.
