As always, a few lines of text can never compare to a long video so i suggest watching that for the best impression.
Show tactics does things.. right.
They don't try to push a new art style, or try to "innovate" on the UI. They don't shackle it to a consoles restrictions or other things we've come to see everywhere.
They have decided an a phenomenally well put together visual style, that they have kept consistent and unique across multiple levels and missions. The UI is clean and informs you about things so you know when, what and where you need to be efficiently. It doesn't bedazzle with "fancy", it polishes that which it knows works to a shine.
The PC Build is fantastic with a slew of options and a very solid performance.
Gameplay wise it's either love it or hate it. The games focus is singular and it executes that damn well, but if you don't enjoy stealth / stealth tactics games, then you'll find nothing else here. It's designed around creating very interesting levels, where you can explore and fiddle around in to complete them in various ways and with various challenges.
Stealth and methodical gameplay is rewarded, and the story rich world and time-period lend themselves to it quite well, coupled with very well put together sound design, every part of this games is REALLY well put together.
The various difficulty levels are diverse and caters to various levels of "hardcore" .
If there is a critique i can find, it's that i'm a bit sad that they have shoehorned characters into specific roles with various restrictions. From simple "cant get on the roof" to the more invasive of not having a character (or characters) available for various missions. And while this means you need to keep experimenting to figure new solutions, it's also a shame that restricts players in the options available in a level.
