The Holy War is over. The demons of Gologotha have been banished, yet the cost has been terribly high. The Creator, god of the Fyllid, has been defeated and the faith of the people has begun to wane. Petty squabbles among the five remaining gods has caused the land to split into five mystical territories - each at war with one another. Into this divided land steps a wizard, a man haunted by his past, whose choices will shape the future.
Which god will he choose? Will he sacrifice himself to change this world for the better, or will what remains of this world be sacrificed for one god's glory?

The game is okay, but I'm mainly posting this review to remove some of the nostalgia flash blinding most of the reviewers here.
The game is indeed unique, but it might become tedious/boring after a while.
Anybody on this site should immediately purchase ALL of Interplay's back catalogue. They are incredible, and this is one of their finest.
Great voice acting, an excellent plot, plus a dynamic campaign that gives more replayability than you'll ever want is blended with beautiful graphics and completely original gameplay. It may be something of an aquired taste, being very tough and more than a little cerebral at times, but for $5.99, even if you hate it it will be good value.
This was one of the first RTS games I played as a Teenager growing up and one of the games that helped define my tastes in gaming altogether. With a wonderful art direction and moving score I must have played through the campaign a myriad of times to see all the possible unit combination's I could come up with which was in my opinion one of the games biggest strengths.
Basically as you take on missions for different gods you will alienate yourself from other gods and be locked out from their campaigns. And since each level gives a different unit archetype and each gods unit within that archetype has different strengths and weaknesses you can build amazing armies mixed from the different gods and craft a truly unique playing experience as different missions become harder or easier depending on the particular build of your army.
Overall a fantastic game that I am truly happy to be able to experience again and hope you take the time to give this work of art the attention it deserves after all these years.
Being a primarily FPS and RPG gamer I tend to shy away from strategy games, except those that can really stand out from the crowd. This is one of those games.
this piece is a really strange and unique game, in basic its a RTS, but also it has many quite different gameplay aspects. in very very basical terms, you collect souls and summon creatures, which you direct around to fight other, well, wizards. or to solve quests. ah, quests, this game is embedded in such an interesting story, often you approace some kind of shrine, where the gods communicate with you and each other. thats very funny and well made, imagine the god of the winds arguing with the god of fire, trying to pursade yourself to take their mission and not the other. wonderful creative gamedesign,
cheers
