I was having a good time with the game, even tho it tends to get repetitive and samey after a while.
The overall flow works and blends well however, which is why i managed to beat last boss in the final difficulty.
Story/characters/voiceover is slightly on the cringier side and definitely aint the reason to play the game. You might feel intrigued at the start, but it wont take long for you to realize whats the appetizer here. And you are a bit allergic for that.
But hey, for the gameplay and strategic combat alone it is definitely worth it and would recommend to anyone already interested in turn-based roguelikes.
A quality rogue-like game with elements of FTL, great voice acting and no bugs in sight. You can configure and upgrade your crew, ship and captain over a number of story and procedurally-generated missions. The missions can start to get repetitive, but the games breaks this up by introducing a range of new different enemy types as you go along. Good value for money.
If you're a fan of Darkest Dungeon 2, this will give you the same feels. Choose a path and take the risks. The turn based Fire Emblemish combat helps as well. Even the pre-boarding combat is strategic. Tad too random and not enough customization keeps this from 5 stars but that is really picking nits.
