Abysmally disappointing.
There are a million little things wrong with this game, all are tiny annoyances and UI problems that make this game a pain in the ass to play. But all those things pale in comparison to the problems this game has in terms of content and gameplay. Most important though is that this game's UI is an absolute piece of shit, there are no options worth mentioning, the sound/music is either non-existent or fucking annoying, the controls don't always work, the entire game is one big steaming pile of locked content, there is never any relevant information available about anything at all (hp of units, size of powers, what an option does), there are obtrusive multi-player aspects in this game that doesn't even have multi-player (as far as I can tell, maybe that's locked content as well?), progress in the game is absolutely abysmaly slow (and I mean that in every possible aspect of this game, EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME IS SLOW AS FUCK! From starting the game to opening menu's to moving around on the map, to moving around on the galaxy map to unlocking new powers, and the worst offender of them all is the speed at which you upgrade existing powers, you'd have to see it for yourself because you'll never believe me if I told you.), also the AI is shit. And if all of that isn't bad enough, this game has no skirmish mode. You can't set any map options, you can't set any game rules, you can't even choose what kind of a map style you want to play on. There are no map option what-so-fucking-ever, plus you also can't see what options are set in place, like which powers are not allowed. On top of all of this this game doesn't even offer anything new to the populous game style. There is no reason to get this game. The character limit prevents me to go into further damning details why this game is horrible, and believe me there is a lot more to cover. If you want a good game try the DS version of populous.
