If you're a fan of Just Cause or Saint's Row, then Red Faction Guerrilla might well tickle your fancy. In the days of sprawling open world titles with hundreds of missions tied together with awful stories, the simplicity of this game makes a welcome change. Violence is not big, hard, or clever, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Red Faction Guerrilla Me-Mars-tered is the remaster no one was asking for, but has turned out to be a welcome surprise.

Such a Gem
This game is such a gem. Very unique with the destructible environment, and to think they did it back in 2009! Really wish we got more games like this

Works on Linux (Lutris + Proton)
Great game with an open world and a destructive environment. The AI is effective and the game overall provides a good sense of immersion when in battle. While the game sadly does not run natively on Linux, I was able to run it with almost no problems with a combination of Lutris + Proton (did not specifically test vanilla Wine). The only problem I experienced was that the game sometimes gets stuck when shutting down, but I simply alt+tab back into the desktop and stop the game through Lutris. In-game experience appears to be flawless.
