Are you feeling adventurous, Hero? The world of Gloriana, with all its wonderful diversity, awaits you. In this pack of five classic Sierra adventure games you will create your character (a warrior, thief, or magic user) and set out on a grand journey for fortune and fame! You will solve quests and puzzles, fight monsters, and save innocents.
In the Quest for Glory pack, which contains all five parts of the classic action RPG games by Sierra, you create your own character, choose his class and abilities and then set out on your grand voyage. Quest for Glory games are universally acclaimed as one of the best adventure games ever developed. After completing a part, you can import your character into the next one, keeping your skills and some special rewards you've hoarded, like magic items.
The story is another of the Quest for Glory series' strong points. It's very solid and immersive, with a light-hearted and humorous narrative that will keep you glued to the screen throughout each of the five installments.
Includes both: VGA and original version of Quest for Glory 1.
Venture across five huge worlds, each based on a different culture and mythology, from Germanic fairy tales, through Arabian and Slavic folklore, right down to Greek mythology.
Three starting character classes to choose from (fighter, magic user, and thief). This decision not only modifies the gameplay but also the story, providing for excellent replayability.
You can transfer your character from one game to the next. The skills and wealth you worked for so hard are not lost!

These were great. Just the right combination of stat play and adventure game to hit the proverbial spot. The game had a ton of adventure and a fantastic sense of humor.
Glory 2 and 4 were my favorites. Glory 3 is a little short, and 5 was a bit rushed, though it had a suitably epic conclusion. Warning about 2 - it is VERY difficult to play this without the manual, at least until you get the map and compass.
This is a part of my childhood, these are games that are amazing to me even to this day. They perfectly couple classic hero storytelling with excellent wit, humor, and imagination. The games are a continuing epic of this one Hero who grows more and more as he helps people across a wide and vast scope of lands. I have never played a game since that has been so dedicated to ensuring your character remained intact throughout a set of sequels.
Buy it, play it. Love it. Love the music, which still makes me feel like a hero on an adventure. Love the characters, who are still memorable and unforgettable to me. And love the love that was put in these games.
All the games in the series offer their own unique settings including a Translyvanian style land with vampires and other undead monsters as well as a thousand and a night inspired arabic land.
Each of the classes in the game offer you different approaches to your goal of becoming a hero, for example as a warrior you will be able to more easily break down doors as well as swing more deadly swords and such with ease while a thief can unlock a door without making a sound as well as sneak past guards.
How you solve the puzzles you face in the games, are all up to you.
But do you have what it takes to be a hero?
These games were the reason I got in to computer gaming. I found QFGIV at a garage sale on 15 different floppy disks and a beat up computer manual. After playing it, I immediately went through and played it again and again. even having started off on the 4th game in the series, I was not lost and the story was compelling, fulfilling, and amazingly well thought out. I had found 1-4 on a pc-cdrom a while back, but after windows 2000, nothing would play it. Good on you, GOG. Very happy to see this in my collection. at 550+ reviews and average score of 5 stars, I think everyone else is too.
