Quake III: Gold brings you the most lethal duo on the planet in an Arena collection guaranteed to leave you black, blue and begging for more.
Quake III Arena
Welcome to the Arena, where high-ranking warriors are transformed into spineless mush. Abandoning every ounce of common sense and any trace of doubt, you lunge onto a stage of narrowing landscapes and veiled abysses. Your new environment rejects you with lava pits and atmospheric hazards as legions of foes surround you, testing the gut reaction that brought you here in the first place. Your new mantra, fight or be finished.
Quake III Team Arena
You entered the Arena alone. Now it's time to share the glory. Create an alliance of forces where teamwork is the only method to achieve total dominance. A distinct games test each troop's synthesis and strength to exacting degrees. Co-operation is the only course of action. And war.... the only alternative. Soldiers, once alone in their struggle, now face the arena as one.
I played this back in the day and had a blast. Picked it up recently on GOG in 2022, and the majority of servers are just full of bots and spectators. I guess if you want it for nostalgia, go for it. If you're expecting the old school Quake III Arena, sadly, it's long gone.
What can I say? It's Quake 3. It had to pick up all the baggage accumulated by its two superb and well-loved predecessors, and that with a pure and undiluted focus on the intense fast-action multiplayer aspects for which Id had become known. I don't know anyone who thinks that Quake 3 failed to live up to or perhaps exceed the tremendous hype and expectations preceding its release. There are probably people who think that, but I don't know them.
If you haven't played Q3A and you have even a modicum of interest in multiplayer entertainment, stop reading and make this purchase. As others have pointed out, the current price ($14.99 regular price at the present time) is not reasonable for a digital copy of a decades-old classic. No biggie, wait for a sale. Though either way, if you play it as much as some of us have, you'll be paying pennies per hour of entertainment.
my dad is not a gamer anymore and has not been sense i was atleast 2 years old. but this was one of my favorite games as a kid! i watched my dad play this and unreal sitting on his lap at the desk in them times which i barley remember. but. the sounds and being able to shoot and blow up players into peices is satisfying and fun! the other quake games i really do not care about as much as i do about this one! even the latest quake game! which the nostalgia with this game when i play it goes through the roof with me! imo. no other deathmatch game or the newest ones makes up to this game which is a few decades old!
a short tragic story i ended up falling and hitting my head on my dads chair and my forhead was bleeding and had to be taken into the hospital which now left me a V shape scar on the front of my forhead.
Absolute classic fast paced arena shooter with DM/TDM/CTF, supports bots, I have doubts humans still play it online. But pricing is too expansive for almost 25 years old game.
