The twin challenges of expanding and re-building for greater efficiency are carefully balanced and truly engrossing. Just make sure to take tour time and explore as much as possible before moving through the checkpoints of the campaign. And spend as much time as possible running at the slowest speed, watching how mars can be changed from inhospitable wasteland to a new cradle of humanity. Just don't forget to ponder whether it's actually worth it, just as the protagonist A.I. does.

Starts out OK, Develops into AMAZING!

So this game starts out as a basic Mars Terra-forming game. Nice, but we have seen Two, Three or Four of those. Make no mistake - this is a voice acted, story based, deeper meaning game. Strategy - OK (there are some balance problems - restart the game on Easy once or twice to get the hang of building placement). But the Story, Voice Acting and Implications - OMG! I can't really write much more without spoiling. But just keep at it until after the first meteor storm. And then..... Yes it is worth twenty bucks. Easy. (It can also be played on a mid-range PC)

Poor implementation of a great concept

Many of the AI terraforming Mars directions are good. The poor programming of drones completely undermines the game. It is tedious to watch the bad behaviour.

Unique mechanics, integreat voice acting

Only 10 hours into the game. I like the unique mechanics - reminds me of the good old original Settlers series: you place buildings close to each other and they will be connected by roads. Workers carry around resources. Yo uneed to manage the number of wrokers and the hubs they are working form. You mine lots of types of resources, build materials from them in factories, bring in colonists via spaceports and house them in colonies. Research meaningful technologies and advance an interesting story-line.
