The title says it all. I'm not paying for Owlcat Games to download 3rd-party spyware onto my machine. Consumers should stand their ground to discourage such toxic/unethical practices.
Whereas the previous instalments strengths carried it through the bad parts this time it's the opposite. The story and characters, while okay, are a clear step down from Kingmaker and the annoying aspects are back worse than ever. The crusader minigame is a horrible waste of time even more so than the city building one from Kingmaker. This time around traveling in the world has been made even more cumbersome with an added fatigue mechanic that requires you to slog back and forth from the base in the joyous world map experience all the while combating meaningless random encounters and having to rest about every 90 seconds. I feel like this game wants to waste my time instead of just offering an RPG adventure without redundant mechanics.
Act 5 is honestly not in a playable state, I'd consider the current state a very rough early beta/late alpha by modern standards, game frequently starts crashing around this point as well, makes me wonder if anyone ever bothered to do a playtest on this part of the game with how many broken things I'm encountering, cyberpunk was more finished than this.
Installed latest version of the game, started it.... and....
EULA section 3.1 "Thereby, the User hereby agrees that Owlcat Games has the right to upload software program files..."
Did Owlcat remove spyware but neglected to update the EULA? Which way is it?!?
Game uninstalled.
Absolutely love the game, I have both Season Passes and I really enjoy my time with it, but after the recent debacle with adding a data collection tool IN A SINGLEPLAYER GAME and changing the EULA resulting in you not being able to play if you refuse to sign it, I feel like I have to join the bombing...
I won't be an issue for a lot of peoples, but for me it really shakes up my trust in Owlcat/META publishing, and I am getting worried about the Warhammer Rogue Trader game.
