The game is not perfect but damn if it is not the best modern CRPG to date. Yes, the game does have bugs that the dev team should have quashed in beta as of patch 1.0.1c. However, the game is enormous, for I assure you, no game out there gives you as much class and gameplay customization as this one does, and it does it beautifully.
It is a solid 8.5/10 with bugs, a 9.5/10 when it is relatively bug-free in a year or so, I believe. I definitely recommend buying it now regardless of the bugs; you will have a blast.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is one of the best representant of the genre. It is long, deep, engaging and, most importantly, replayable.
The Mythic Paths give a lot of different options in how you can play the game, both on the mechanical front and the roleplaying front. Want to be a pragmatic and evil overlord? You absolutely can and will have special decisions and units just for that. Want to be a parangon of justice and goodness? You can too, and have completely new elements to the game.
Even in a genre known for long games, this one is particularly long (100h to finish it without rushing too much) and even if it may be a bit daunting, it gave the dev the ability to give time to everything. The way the characters interact and evolve is all very realistic and actually believable. You can influence them on the long run rather than in a few line of dialogues and this is something that I appreciated particularly.
I could go on like this for a long time, but I'll try to be shorter; if you enjoy the world of Pathfinder, C-RPGs or game with a great story, then you should play this game. Don't be afraid to read though, there's a lot of text.
PS: As of right now there is still quite a lot of bugs, nothing that prevents you from playing but it may be anoying so you should maybe wait a bit for the devs to iron them out.
I have played and finished the game, and its is simply wonderful. The graphics, the sound, the history (a big big EPIC history) is good too. Some bugs, yeah, but the team seems to fix the error pretty quick.
Worth it, completely, and expecting more games from the company behind it.
First of, I waited until a month after the release of the game to avoid any major bugs and indeed did not experience any gamebreaking issues. The game is still being patched, but the current state is perfectly playable.
Second, I found the gameplay to be marginally improved over the first Kingmaker game (which I liked a lot). The addition of the turn-based mode will please a lot of players. The story is totally different, much more epic and grand and kind of less personal, for me still very engaging. The writing is mostly good, the NPCs are mostly good, same as in the previous game.
The reviews here are mostly negative. I believe this is mostly due to the amount of bugs the game had at launch. So I would suggest that you focus on the more recent reviews to find out about the current state of the game.
Overall, one of the best CRPGs I ever played (over the last 25 years). It was very intensive, included some very cool moments, made me think hard about a lot of the choices I needed to make, and included some crazy difficult fights on an epic scale. These are for me the defining characteristics of a great RPG.
3.5/5

Story is cool but after 10h i've lost epic emotions. I just want some simplified english, without some "poetic/political/fantasy" mix of long portions of reading. I dont feel in normal life talks have a similar mileage. I feel much more natural with Skyrim, Fallout 4, WItcher, Fallout4 dialogue system.
I dont like DnD skills logic - its just in one world "dumb" or "obsolete". Maybe card games could be cool but i'd rather want to play something which is more simulation than frustration with weak buggy pathfinding, team not avoiding traps, dumb rest system where using magic is tireing but using swords isnt. This game should be more sim less TableTop dream of some fanatic.
