Horrible writing, boring characters

I'm not far into the game, so I hope it gets better (much better!), but so far the writing has been atrocious and the characters are boring and uninspired. Also, the whole setting has a much more juvenile feel, compared to the previous game. It's very manicheistic, gruesome and simplistic. Good guys vs bad guys and you're the chosen one! The story may get better, but I don't think there's any hope for the writing and the characters. Gone are the days of characters like Amiri, Regongar, Octavia, Jubilost, Nok-Nok. This time I will probably just create some custom characters and ignore the premade companions, because they're so generic and bland, that there's no justification to use them, since they're abviously less optimized than a character I make myself. Also, control casters have been nerfed, which I dislike. They've removed the ability to add some metamagic to some control spells, which really penalizes my playstyle.

Russian studio+mandatory spyware=no

* Russian game studio (moved headquarters from Moscow to Cyprus recently, like many other russian capital, yet still russian). * Mandatory spyware install (now after game install). Do you really believe that they will only steal your hardware data, really? And if not only (maybe our banking data also) - will you sue russian game studio? Ask yourself: do you really want to play this 'russian roulette' with your personal data on your computer? Here you go, read what you have to accept: "Thereby, the User hereby agrees that Owlcat Games has the right to upload software program files to User’s Device, that will record CPU, RAM, operating system, video card, sound card, software and application of the other developers, peripherals, geolocation and any other anonymous technical and statistical information from User’s computer. The User also agrees that Owlcat shall have the right to transfer the said anonymous information to its subcontractors, performing Game development, and vendors providing services necessary for operation of the Game."

spywares tell bad stories

The game suffers from terrible story telling and bad UI. The problems with the spyware that comes along have already been mentioned by many others so I will not elaborate more here.

A lot of Choices.

Seems like a good game so far putting 20 hours in. Character Customization itself takes 2 hours. I've had a lot of close fights with one of my guys standing. The way I played was real time combat until I start to lose then i switch to Turn base mode. There are also many mythic paths you can take which seems pretty interesting. It really kind of feels like BGII, except that there are some pretty long dialogues i just skip. It'd be cool if the devs implement coop play then i could like adventure with my buddies maybe.

Kingmaker but better in every way

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous expanded on its predecessor in every possible way. The setting is much darker then fantasy kingdom building fairy tail that was Kingmaker, and you get introduced to it via a very brutal beginning. This is balanced by the fact that whole storytelling gets much more grandoise/epic and it's supported by a very heavy combination of choir and orchestral audio performence. It ties together VERY well in my opinion. Audio in general is absolutely amazing and I was surprised by the spacial sound design that I could hear in my headphones (for example music in the tavern actually comes from the band of bards that plays it). NPCs are much more interesting then they were in first game, (if anyone touches Ember I'll kill 'em! :) ). They actually have some entertaining backgrounds that you get to be a part of (for most of them). There are some boring quests but even those somehow tie to the world around them. They don't feel out of place for me. Graphically game went through a huge overhaul. Much better lighting, higher res textures, you can actually rotate the camera and view the battlefield and maps from all directions. Characters up close don't look too good though, but you are meant to view the game from isometric perspective and the game does this well. Also performence is better then in Kingamaker - loadings are actually fast, I think that save files are also smaller and I get high GPU usage and high frames which was not the case in Kingmaker. Storywise I feel invested. I actually got chills when I got to first experience mythic abilites when near the Wardstone (no spoilers) and even though it was a read heavy experience the music kept me sooo interested and invested! There are some minor bugs (although some other people are experiencing more annoying ones) that aren't worth mentioning. I definietly reccomend! You can always return it with GOG policy within 30 days. But If you are a fan of cRPGs I doubt you'll want to. :)
