Hey so fare 25 hours in, and having a blast, one of those games who keep you up at night. For me this is on og the best rpgs sinc Baldurs gate 2
Bugs have been decently cleared out, only experince minor bugs at this point, and load times are decent, but they are still patching, som in time gonna be fine..
A little Text more explanation would have been nice in a game with so many complex mechanics. If you like a challenging game who expectes you to think on your own you found it.
For the fanatics there is alot of difficulty options, for my par standard is fine with enough challenge to keep you in check.
Best praises from here, dont miss out on this Diamond
Oh if only there had been a "playable demo" first.... I really wanted to like this game, but the lock ups, game glitches, poor mechanics, and so on just make the game unbearable and unplayable. $70 thrown to the wind on a less than alpha release with no signs of anyone from Owlcat even making an attempt to deliver on a finished game.
Negative reviews based on the bugs the game has (that are being polished in a weekly basis) are not being fair. This is an awesome game. Is worth every coin you pay for it. The gameplay is very similar to baldur's gate or neverwinter night's series but here, choices matter in a deeper way and you build a whole kingdom. This is the first game I'd like to start all over just to see how my choices affect the game.
So, storywise, I like this game. Gameplaywise, it's good. As others have said, I'm not familiar with the pathfinder rules, so I have some learning to do, but otherwise, it's fun. The game is lovely and the character acting, for the most part, is very good.
The bad, though, are the routine bugs. Nothing bad enough to warrant a refund, but there are several (some may be mac specific)
1) The stupid game crashes every time I quit it. That may be GOG's overlay but it may just be something stupid the developers are doing
2) Next, there is the ever upward bug where I have to exit the game and hope that my view will not continuously scroll upward regardless of what I click or do with the mouse/keyboard. That's really annoying. I tell you, it's very hard to play a game that wants to show you whatever is ever futher upward of whatever is happening.
3) There are the infrequent all out crashes. They were worse at first, bit I have had 3 or four in the couple of days that I've been playing the game.
As for nonbug irritants>
1) Lag. I am reminded of those days of the floppy disk whilst playing this game. Seriously, why should it be acceptable to wait 5 or more minutes between regions? Maybe this is just a mac problem? The fact that they only put garbage HDD inside this desktop machines made of mediocre laptop parts? Or is it just poor optimization? I have no idea. Pray that you never change your mind after clicking exit and have to wait an eternity so that you can re-enter the previous city/whatever or you may just throw your computer out the window.
2) I like that you can collect all from region exits, but it sure would be nice if harvesting herbs and the like would just automatically populate your inventory rather than requiring so many mouse clicks.
3) It's really annoying that you can't your throne without wandering for ever through the town square. You should be able to click a single icon to join the party and head out without the eternal march.
