I read many bad comments about this game, apparently due to a lot of bugs/issues at the beginning.
I had the chance to play it later (v2.1.5d), and it's clearly an amazing RPG game. I think I did not played such a good game since 1990's (despite of some other good games like Baldur)
- The turn based system is just the best I ever played. I hope the next Pathfinder game will keep at least this part with NO changes at all (please)
- The level up system is also really a pleasure
- The quality of dialogs, OMG, in french, it's just unbelievable
Really, congrats to the studio who developped and offered us this game, cannot wait for the next opus
the game isn't difficult at all once you understand the ruleset. it even felt too easy.
companions are the most generic i've ever come across in a crpg and their quests are not interesting at all
kingdom management is boring and annoying. made me lose all interest in the game after like 20 hours. i kept on playing but my enjoyment decreased hours after hours so i gave up after like 25 hours maybe.
i wanted to play a crpg, not a managerial simulation.
it's too linear and railroading:
- those stupid main quest timers are the most unecessary thing in the game. it feels like the developers wanna force you to go through the main quest and you have no choice.
- the map is huge but you can't go anywhere you want because the developers decided that it was a great idea to make it railroading. you unlock new regions as you go along. what a fantastic railroading idea! you can't explore more that you would like because you are stopped by giant magical and invisible walls.
developers: wanna explore more? good, DO THE MAIN QUEST.
i hate being forced in a crpg. it's a huge turnoff for me, i felt like i was playing a bland and generic final fantasy game at some point.
I have dumped 200 hours into both pathfinder's and they are great games. Love the universe and the stories. This one has a pretty cool kingdom sim. If you like cRPG's, youll like these.
A rich and challenging CRPG with deep character customization, engaging storytelling, and a true tabletop feel. A must-play for fans of classic isometric RPGs.
The game is really good but the voice acting by the NPCs is terrible, they all sound like they're from Texas which is annoying becuase I'm from Texas and moved to the UK to escape the gun crime and mass shootings and now after living here for 8 years I cannot stand the Texas accent.
Besides the voice acting the game is really good, loads and plays absolutley fine and will keep you busy for an infinite amount of time throughout the English winter and beyond. cheers.
playing on ryzen 6 and nvidia 1660
