Stange but good

I never played this back in the day so I didn't go into it with any nostalgia and I'm not going to cut it any slack for being old. Nox is a slightly strange beast, it is firmly tongue in cheek but it really needs it because at times it is brutal as hell. The camp humour made sure I was swearing good naturedly at the instant deaths rather than rage quitting. The campaign is long and varied with a wonderful number of little ideas thrown in and apparently varies quite a lot between the three classes which should add some relay value. The graphics are still perfectly nice and the interface is for the most part clear and concise. The loot isn't really very inspiring but it doesn't really matter because the dungeon crawling itself is fun and interesting enough to stand up even when you've completely lost interest in the loot. It is a game which manages that most wonderful of tricks of making you want to beat it. I think it actually manages that by not feeling particular polished and not having anything close to an even difficulty curve. You'll curse it at times but it keeps things interesting. I feel like I've more than got my monies worth of entertainment out of this game and I've a feeling I might return to check out the other two classes at some point. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who fancies a brutal, light hearted, hack and slash.

Great memories but sadly no game

I remember playing this game as a kid and LOVING it, so when I found it on here I was SO excited to replay NOX. Sadly, on Windows 10, all I get is the Westwood Studios intro and sometimes part of the game intro video. Then everything freezes, and if I tab out and back in, I see the start menu, with all keys and mouse frozen, except being able to tab back out and shut down the window. IF you can get the game to work, I'm sure you'll love it if you love this type of game, but be careful, as apparently it doesn't work for everyone, and sadly I'm one of those who can't play it. If it worked, I'd give it 5 stars, but when I can't even play, I just give it 2 for the memories...

One of the most underrated games i think

I played a lot of video games and invested much time in different games. But this one was really the best of the best for a young boy to experience multiplayer games back in that time. The graphics, the fast speed/pace of the game, the different ways to play each class. Incredible. What i feel about this game can't be described in simple words. The time with superjack, gyzmo and darkVirus and a lot of others on Europe server will be never forgotten. The memories have been burned in my head - probably until the day i die. What a pity this game got mixed up as a "bad diablo 2 clone" and many magazines wrote it down. This was one of the fastest and most unforgiving multiplayer games. This game was easy to learn and had like almost no skill ceiling. You can say this was the Quake of action adventures. Almost all the reviews focused on the campaign sadly, which is a bit short, but still worth playing. Contact me, if anything is still up on EU regarding this game.

Looks good, feels good, plays good.

Usually, it's considered an overlooked gem from the late 90s, early 00s ARPG aka Diablo-like. Indeed, this game has many own ideas on its own, for instance, simple physics can be considered as a prototype for an idea the Larian games would later develop into its own unique and recognisable mechanic. Sam Raimish corny humour has no alternative in any other RPGs, 3 characters and 3 slightly different playthroughs, fantastic art direction, voice acting and just overall distinct character. Though, after finishing it 2nd time, I'd say that it is closer to modern linear adventure action games than RPG, cause technically, you can't change stats or develop your own skill tree. It's a shame that EA being EA, killed this franchise.

A masterpiece ( Crash solution included)

A game that brought magic into my childhood, so glad to see it here, the details and the ambience are the best part of it, making you feel the magic in such a way other games can't. *For people having trouble with the crash!! found an easy fix just find the exe file that starts the game, run it on compatibility mode with windows 98/Me and run as admin!! Pure magic
