smallteam with smallresults for big game

lets just say i played it for 3-4 hours few days after release i saw everything the game has to offer then i turned off the game and played something more fun and lets just say that the game is nothing like i expected and only the first hour or so was fun then its all the same shit they need to refund everyone who bought it atleast 30 bucks like straight into their ps4 or steam or gog accounts there should be a petition for it

Fooled yet again.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME ON GOG, IT LACKS THE ADVERTISED MULTIPLAYER THAT OTHER PLATFORMS DO HAVE. After two years the GOG version still doesn't have multiplayer. The Atlas Rises update included multiplayer for every platform except GOG. Now a year later and with the Next update there is still no multiplayer to be found. Don't be like me and buy a game the developer is incapable or unwilling to provide all the advertised features. They don't seem to care. If I where able to have refund I would refund this in a heartbeat, sadly this is no option for me, so I just have to bend over and take it like a man. Thanks a lot.

Lack of Parity with other platforms

Lacks a major component of Multiplayer from this version. DO NOT BUY on GOG if your intent is to multiplayer in any way.

Despite the vastness it fails to impress

From almost a complete day of gaming I find it that the game lacks a lot from what one might expect from any gameplay or screenshot. It somehow manages to lure you to invest more time and to keep making guesses as to what the game might expect from the player. There are not hints to anything. While I can't seem to manage to play with my joystick or throttle, the flight controls by keyboard tells me that it still wouldn't live up. The ship isn't fully controllable. I can't fly as close to ground as I'd like, the feel to the piloting holds much to wish for and there's a key for auto-landing rendering any piloting to simply be all about rotating the ship towards desired direction and waiting... The only thing that interupts you from your tranquilizing boredom are the "achievement unlocked" that appear all at random. However, much unlike the yet-so-annoying-Microsoft-achievements, these add a longer sound, a whole-screen centered text and a wide-screen cutscene layer that keeps you rather crippled from playing. I fear this is what eventually will have me killed: to get one of them achievements at the wrong time and it'll tell me that I've walked for 15km, preventing me to reload my blaster and refill life-sustaining systems, which can anly be done through the inventory screen. It's really quite repetative, and while I wander around alone thinking about how to start trading with A.I. atleast, it strikes me that all of us could just as well be playing this game entirely offline and we wouldn't notice. Since the graphics holds no excuse to all that gaming power it requires, I wonder if they're not just using it all to mine bitcoins for themselves(?). Textures are poor, gameplay (the little gameplay spent aside from inventory menus) is truly slow but most of all: seeing all the various "life forms" does not make the game any less repetitative. The one star that I give, above the minimum one star, is for the awesome idea behind this: they created a universe, yet unfolding.

No Discovery, Everything's Identical

It's hard to buy into the sense of discovery when every single planet has established trading outposts populated by aliens and regularly visited by the same 3 or 4 traders and stations that are also inhabited. You're not discovering anything. The sense of wonder and exploration quickly die away as you find that every single planet is almost identical. Traveling 1.7 million light years through a black hole leads you to a planet that looks almost the same as the one you just left. The rocks are the same. Most of the plants are the same with a few having an ever-so-slightly different shape. The largest variation comes from the creatures. Most are almost identical to others you've seen while a few are fairly different. It's hard to believe that two planets so far away are nearly identical in every regard. This repetitiveness just makes exploration tiresome as you're never seeing anything new. Space stations are mostly identical. The landing area of every one is the exact same. The only difference is a single room with possibly an alien inside. The same 3 or 4 ships keep landing in the hanger and I've often found the same alien (same name, same ship, same appearance, same inventory) sitting beside himself in the hanger. For something that's so "limitless", there a tremendous amount of repetition. There's really nothing driving you towards the center of the universe. There's the brief mention of the Atlas thing and the waypoints to the Atlas stations, but there's really no story or anything compelling you to do it, making you want to see what this Atlas thing is all about. Without that driving force, my interest int he game lasted until I realized it was just a mindless, repetitive slog for nothing. Gather resources to craft a thing to make you more efficient at gathering resources. That's all there is. The only reason for a larger ship is to hold more resources. The game is a fantastic, ambitious idea that falls completely short of what it really could have been.
