First ever refund request
All I can say is that this game is the first ever I requested a refund for. That, in more than 15 years of gaming. I guess that makes it special in a way.

No mans sky is feature incomplete
Bought it on steam, but felt pretty ripped off by it so I figured I should post a review here too. NMS is the definition of feature incomplete, as in there are things that were supposed to be in the game that the devs weren't able to add before the release date. Even worse though is that the missing features weren't just listed in some list or something, they were touted in the media. Claims of multiplayer 'interaction' and promises of rewards for getting to the center of the galaxy stand out as the most egregeous of these flat out deceptions. Anyways, the game does not play as was advertised and is poorly optimized also (don't think I ever got to 60fps before giving up and getting a refund). Just my $0.02, hope I save someone from experiencing the dissapointment I did.

Got refund for technical issues
I did not now a thing about NMS two months ago. So I can not be considered as a long year anticipating fan boy. I did not know anything about all the forecasts from the producers about what will be in there and so on. So I started playing without any biasing. And was somehow impressed for some hours of playing. And get bored a bit after some more. But the point was: Some day the game did not start anymore on my Win-10-Rig with Intel Core i7-965 and GeForce GTX770. It produced bluescreens from "Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap" every time I tried to start. Reinstallation with the new GoG-Patch 2.3.0.5 dropped a "Runtime Error (at 69:1358): :" (exact message text) right before the end of installation, leaving the system sometimes with no or only part of the program icons. I did registry cleans, administrative rights for installation and execution and several other measures to get the software to a clean install and running again. All failed. So I asked for refund. 'cause I could not use the software anymore at all. Got my money back few days later. So everything is fine with GoG. I have loved playing this game for a longer period of time. Despite the fact that it startet to bore me somehow with all its repetiveness. Everething looks the same, feels the same after the first bunch of systems. And there is really nothing more to do than loot and sell. Wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle is a good metaphor I read for this. For 60 Euros there should be more depth. Would have been rating 3 stars if it would have been technically OK.

Hooked me, then broke me
50 hours I want back. An interesting game engine and addictive exploration idea fall flat when combined with an abundunce of technical issues, game-breaking bugs, poor PC graphics and controller support, lack of consistant and sometimes erroneous in-game information, and other issues ranging from annoying to unacceptable. This game also comes from a company that made promises then failed to deliver and has then refused to communicate any information other than dry technical patch details to it's customers that it choose to throw under the proverbial bus. You will either buy this game and realize it's a total waste of time or invest hours expecting it to finally reveil something greater and, like I, finally realize there is nothing of substance on offer.

A great lesson in advertising
As the title says this game is a masterpiece in advertising, as in its core concept of misleading in the most entertaining way. Tales will be told in future design classes to how sell hype and deliver emptyness. In short: stay away from this fraud product. Not worth 60 bucks. Not wort 9 bucks. Not worth for free. Not worth your time.
