Ragebound is tough to complete and even harder to master, but it’s hardest to put down. It’s demanding with little frustration, engaging with few lulls, and ultimately, a reminder that while Ryu’s modern-day adventures can be great, there’s still Ki to be found in Ninja Gaiden’s original dimensions.

Great 2D platformer revival
This game is so great. It has great pixel graphics, banging music, awesome sound effects. The levels are really fun and challenging. The enemy types and placements really ramp up at the end of the game. The rank scoring system is super awesome. and you can chose to challenge yourself with the negative impacting talismans, that gives you rank up on level complete. I have not done hard mode yet, but I am sure it provides even more hours of challenges for the hardcore out there. Movement and abilities and customization of spirit attacks are a really well done. Customizible accessibilty options are also there, like changing the hyper charge time, the game speed, the guillotine air jump size, and reduced flashing. Really well done on that part. The only gripe I have, which could be patched in the future, is the grabbing/hooking to walls and ceilings. In games like Super Meat Boy, you get a grace time on the controls, between pressing a direction and actually touching a surce, for input to register your intensions. This is not how it is in this game. When you touch a ceiling or wall, you have to actually keep pressing in that direction, untill you are sure that you have hooked/grabbed. It has caused me a lot of deaths and grief so far. So if that could be improved, this game would be a spotless 5/5. Right now it is a 4.5/5 for me. There are also a few random bugs and enemy behaviour stuff going on, but nothing that detracts from the game in general. It is an enjoyably hard platformer.

The kind of Ninja gaiden I had hoped for
I have waited for a new game in the Ninja Gaiden series for a long time and this not only didn't disappoint, it excels. Ragebound has direct throwbacks to the classic series that both showcase reminiscent gameplay to its predecessors, but also manages to bring something new to the franchise. The difficulty feels just right, if you're looking for a classical style level of difficulty that is also fair. The variety of moves allow for a good variety of options when facing multiple enemies on the screen and the graphical style is both modern and with stylistic traits that remind me of both the classic and modern series. The music is top notch and features Keiji Yamagishi, one of the composers for the NES series. Highly recommended.

Lots of fun
Really enjoying this. Lots of fun platforming, great bosses, fun story. Feel like it's gonna have good replay value too, as theres already stages I've gone back to get higher rank on..
