I played this game for like an hour as a kid and then got my nasty cheese puff fingerprints on the disk and didn't get to play again until adulthood. Loved MM6 was very excited to finally play MM7. Such great games!
Shitty 90s enemy pathing is a fun feature rather than a bug.
I remember how hard this game was. The first characters and classes I made didnt really play well together that I eventually decided to delete and restart after a lot of trial and errors and countless hours played but man it made me finish the game because of that hard decision. I hold this game dearly as this is probably the first one that blew my mind with the gameplay and how the story went from linear to bizarre. MM6 is also highly recommended if you like this game.
in my opinion, the best might and magic in the series. you start off on kind of a tutorial island with a unique atmosphere and is fun to explore, and the rest of the game keeps up to it. i don't know what the level designers do to this game, but there's really only a few other games that managed to create such unique nostalgic like atmosphere, right from the first time you play it, and exploring the world is therefore so much fun.
m&m6 was fun indeed, m&m8 ok too, but this is the only single piece in the series made in this engine that despite the relatively low polygon count and not very quality 2d sprite renders manage to create a surprisingly personal open world with a good balanced gameplay that never leaves you hanging where you wouldn't know where to go next, or always provide something extra if you didn't want to progress with the main story line right away
This is the 1st RPG I ever played and it about ruined all the rest for me. I haven't gotten hours and hours of replay enjoyment, more like months and months. Along the way I've used most of the mods, I especially like the current one that packages MM6-7-8 together into 1 game. If you've never played MM7 then I am srsly jealous of you, you're in for such a treat.
