Fab game!
If you love the Metro story (books, games) absolutely play this. Even if I prefer the more linear claustrophobic environment of the metro tunnels or the frozen wasteland of the overground cities I can't in good faith deduct stars from the review because of the environmental choices and wider maps of this game. I'm only a bit sad at what could have been if we had an opportunity to spend more time in the frozen cities etc. As it is, the maps are a bit stereotypical - there's a jungle, there's a desert etc. Slightly to 'a bit of everything' for my liking. The dreadfully bleak environment of the apocalypse is where this game shines in my opinion. My rating basically reflects the want for more of the Metro saga in the future. The 'mini boss fights' I wasn't too keen on and I outright disliked the cutscene jerks but the story, characters and gameplay are expectedly excellent!
