The Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition is out now! The radical update which harnesses the power of Ray Tracing capable GPUs to deliver an incredible visual upgrade.
The Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition is free for all existing owners of Metro Exodus on PC, but the upgrade is so extensive, it can not be delivered as a patch - instead, it is available as a separate entitlement. Upgrades include DLSS 2.0 Inclusion, Ray Traced Emissive Lighting used throughout, FOV slider, increased framerates and display resolutions. A Ray Tracing capable GPU is the minimum spec for this beast, and you can upgrade right now for free if you own Metro Exodus.

Enjoyable story shooter, also for someone who comes from RPGs. For me, the most I've enjoyed a shooter since Half Life 2. I specifically like the sneaking pathways, which in many cases let you avoid the monsters altogether.
Metro Exodus is one of my favorite games I have all three of this series and love all of them.
MY biggest complaint is Exodus has issues with startup on some computers...black screen bug, and freeze up. I have to run in windowed mode in order to play this game because it is a major headache to get it started otherwise and I have a very mainstream computer not a major gaming
machine but a good one none the less. Gigabyte 990fx MB. AMD 8 core fx series 4.0ghz with 32 gigs of ram and a Nvidia 1060 6gb graphics card. the other two games have no problem with it and neither does anything else for that matter but Exodus does. I really don't see why they have not fixed this issue with game. The graphics are really good, the story and the gameplay is A plus in all reguards, as for the graphical startup bug it can be worked around but "WHY NOT FIX IT". A game of this quality deserves a fix! And for anyone encountering this bug try windowed mode.... which game does not support in options but should is YOUR NOT GOING TO FIX BUG.
This is the third game in the franchise and I bought the entire metro collection and played all the three games for the first time, and OH BOY.... what an amazing franchise I had to chance to experience.... <3
I was previously a fallout fan but since bethesda took such terrible decissions with 76 and ethical choices a companY I was a little sad because I really enjoyed that sense of apocalyptic world with story telling that I didn't found anywhere else, but I never really heard about metro before and with the release of the " PC ENHANCED EDITION" and my new PC I said like: yeah why not? let's try it out, and oh boy what an amazing experience.
Taking account that I played all 3 games in literally 2 weeks is insane, since 2033 I completely fell in love with the franchise, is such a grounded world with it's setting and world building, the art style of the previous games reamain intact with exodus and it just makes everything else look higher quality and is amazing, all the environments looks insanely realistic and beautiful, all the places where you go with your crew just look gorgeous...
The story starts with the hopeless dream that every person in the metro has in the post apocalyptic Russia, a way to find a better place for our loved ones... away from that chaotic faction war, the lack of a proper air source to breathe and finally be free from that concrete sky. That is the premise of this game, unlike the other metro games, there's is not a main villain, someone to blame or something like that, the main objective is to explore the unknown frontiers that are ahead of us , to discover what happenned to the rest of the world after the war, to see how the people survived all this time and how they have evolved, and I think that that's the main plot about this game the people and it's world, your family and taking care of them while you explore the remains of the previous land known as Russia...
It's a fascinating world and I cannot recommend it enough.
First thing I loved the most : the story is very engaging. You are fighting for your wife and for your friends/second family. The characters are likable and that's why protecting/saving them is an incredibly good goal. It makes what you do feel important and urgent. The story makes sense, mostly. Not a masterpiece but efficient.
Then, it's very immersive. However it's graphics, music, sound effects, the game is a jewel and the world surrounding you feels very real, either loving (sometimes), dangerous (most of the times) and scary(not often but you'll love it ;) ). The fact that the story takes place on the many steps of a train journey justify multiple changes of environnment which are refreshing, even if I was completely in love with the ruins of Moscow.
Shooting sensations are good, movements are not clunky, good variety of weapons and I liked seing my arsenal improve over time.
Finally, I'm simping super hard for my sexy-sniper-russian-wife.
With the RTX-ready "Enhanced Edition" released this year I'm certain this must be the best game released this year!
The decision to move the setting out of the Metro underground really allowed the developers to create a whole new experience and stunning visuals while still keeping the tense gameplay. The story focuses on humanity and cruelty in a post-apocalyptic world. For me this game is a must-play!
