Game crashes anytime my controller disconnects. For an older game where you can't rely on autosaves, it ruins the experience since I have to play pretty much every portion of the game twice.
The game is still awesome of course but this port is the laziest thing i've ever seen, you can buy so much better stuff with more care put into it than this waste of 10 dollars
This is my first purchase on GOG(lemme say the "NO DRM" thing was BS but enough about that)
As someone who has played every Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Solid is probably my favorite, albeit the shortest(once you know the game well enough to "accidentally" speed run it)
This port plays well. the only thing i see really wrong with it is the cut scenes sometimes lose frames/stutter a bit, which is something that an emulated version (or OG copy) of the game never did for me.
The remapable keys are nice considering I didn't want use a controller, but the original layout was typical 90's PC controls(using arrow keys to move and left side keys to perform actions). I was easily able to remap closely to a WASD model, using the mouse only for my weapons. You can almost literally play this game one handed if you don't mind using the trackpad and thumb to shoot.
Overall, happy with the purchase, plan to buy MGS2 and several other older games soon.
