Love Classic, but community patch is bad
MoM has been one of my favorite games since it came out, despite the bugs. I love playing the game and I miss turn based games like these. I saw there was a community patch version, and thinking it addressed some of the bugs and while it seems to, it's made the game almost unplayable. Even on easy, your opponents overwhelm you very early in the game and you're struggling to keep up. Feels like easy on the community patch is like hard on the classic version. Unless that gets addressed, I think I'll stick with classic.

The Master Game
I'm the same as many here ,I played it when it first came out even with all the bugs and have been playing it ever since. Highly recommended. The races aren't balanced and shouldn't be as one race can provide a far different experience than another. Nothing I enjoy more than being stuck on an island with Klackons and only room for one city. Magic spirit time. You can use a few methods to power through to an easy victory or choose an extremely difficult path and everything in between. To use your own magic in your home city you need to keep your gold under 15000. There is still a number of buggy things but no deal breakers for me.

Still my favorite
Many newer games look better and sound better, but very few equal this level of gameplay. It's awsome. :-)

ever enduring
this game is a gem. as with a diamond the creators started with coal and made it over time into a diamond and created a game with soooooo many great elements that has been entertaining me since childhood and have been look for a way to get for my more modern computer. EIGHTEEN years after its release it is still entertaining how many games can say this? the units, the characters the mechanics the simplicity and the sheer beauty. THANK YOU GOG.COM I LOVE YOU ALL FOR REUNITING ME with one of my childhood favourites
