I remember getting the original Lords of The Realm back in elementary school. I played and played and played. I really enjoyed it.I recently saw this (After a long time ago getting rid of my pc game collection) and remembered why it was I spent so much time playing it.
The game is very similar to the Total War series in terms of you build up your counties create troops than can control the battle field. It is something that will keep you entertained for many a night.
I own all three of these Lords of the Realm games, and have played them on and off for the past 14 years. Quite possibly my favorite games of all time, Lords of the Realm I and II are incredible RTS/RPG combination, with great handling of Medieval Europe.
This game is a must buy.
This is probably one of my favorite strategy games of all time. Playing this in the late 90's, it had amazingly good graphics, decent maps, and the gameplay still is the best although I've played many more games since.
Oh, Good Old Games, how happy I am that you have this game in your collection!
I still remember this thrill when I got my first PC (until then I was using my father's PC). It was back in 1997 - beautiful Pentium 166MMX, 15" monitor. Oh joy of joys!
The game that I got with it was Lords of the Realm 2. I started playing and I just couldn't stop. I was trying new tactics all the time, I just loved those battles. Surely, I got surprised my a plague or two, but the game was and is amazing.
Thank you for bringing those memories back!
And the game still rocks!
Never played the first, but LotR 2 is a game that is always on my HD, and one that always gets played a couple of times per year. Yeah, it's not as in depth and challenging as some of the new total war games, but it's got everything you want if you like these games. The beauty of it is that it's simple, fun, and easy to just sit down and play for half an hour. You can't really get a whole lot better than this.
