You play as Twinsen, a young Quetch living on Citadel Island on a planet that orbits between two suns: Twinsun. The dictator Dr. FunFrock uses cloning technology and teleportation to control the planet and its population. Twinsen is been having strange dreams in which the planet is about to be destroyed! The Legend says that only the Heir of Sendell, Twinsun’s beloved Goddess, can prevent this from happening.

Twinsen is charm. What borught me to Twinsen originally was an interest in early PC game's and I have to say Twinsen feels like watching a French Luc Besson or Jean Luc Godard film... it's different... it's French! That off kilter, non-sensical Frenchness is oosing in Twinsen and it's very refreshing indeed.
How is Twinsen to play in 2025? The deaths are rough and the tempple of Bu was really rough for me, however Twinsen is one of those game's that once you've finished it lingers, stays with you so I think it's worth the investment.
This game is wonderfull.
The atmosphere, the exploration, puzzles and action are all perfect.
Moreso, it feels like a living world with so much going on - few modern games come close. Its also a decent length.
I became so obbessed with this game I made a 40minute Swede of it :p (that is, a zero-budget fanfilm). Just Google for LBA Swede if you want to watch it - its free and creative commons for anyone to view/spread.
Way way back, many eons ago, my father decided the family could have a home pc, and we would be replacing our Commodore 64. He brought home a game called LBA. I was hooked, I played it for hours, from getting up to sleeping, until my sister scolded me and told me it was unhealthy. I didn't care. I've played many games since and work in the gaming industry but I have pined for many years for the days of LBA. Distraught at my new computers and their snobbery as they refused to run the game I had loyally hung onto for all this time. Until now. After much whining and complaining, a friend brought me here to GoG and bought me the best gift I could have asked for. My youth. My memories. Opening it up, its as awesome as it was so many years ago. I can only thank whoever made this workable version. So much fun, the story is engaging, the characters endearing, it is as challenging as it is funny and has far more depth and love poured into it than many games created these days. I'd recommend it to everyone
