Legend of Grimrock 2 is a dungeon crawling role playing game with a modern execution but an oldschool heart. A group of four prisoners have shipwrecked on the secluded Isle of Nex. The island is filled with ancient crumbled ruins, mysterious shrines and a vast underground network of dungeons and mines. If the prisoners wish to make it out alive, they have to overcome the challenges devised by the ominous mastermind of the island.
Powers of perception and logic are more important than sheer force is, since Legend of Grimrock 2 puts a heavy emphasis on exploration, survival and challenging puzzles. Discover powerful ancient artifacts from hidden secret chambers and buried treasures. Arm your champions, cast spells and craft enchanted potions and bombs to aid you in fighting the dreadful monsters in highly tactical real-time combat.

instantly hooked
I have never played any game like this game before and I was a bit sceptical but I sat down and played for 5 hours straight. What a fun game!

A great sequel
Legend of Grimrock 2 is bigger, better and even more enjoyable sequel to its predecessor. More environment, more enemies, more riddles, a great story (even though you'll learn that only at the game end, *and* you need to find out that there's more than one ending...). I have a few nitpicks on this game, but that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed this game immensely. I did. The nitpicks: I'd like to see even more outdoor environments, instead of mostly dungeons/catacombs/etc. I'd like to hear amazing music per environment, instead of just random eerie sounds in cemetry/bog/etc. The skill system is far from perfect, battlemages make more sense than mages, minotaurs make more sense with light weapons than heavy, fighters make sense only in the back row instead of the front row, it's all backwards. And finally, some of the riddles and especially the second game ending is damn too difficult to find out on your own, even to realize there is one. Yes, the whole game is based on difficult riddles, but sometimes there's just no way to solve them without looking on the web. Still, it was an awesome experience. My only regret is that they haven't made the second game available for Linux, as they did with the first one.

Outstanding RPG
An excellent RPG with clever puzzles, a sense of exploration, many secrets to uncover, and fantastic enemies to fight. Does not hold your hand, which I personally like. Better than the first Grimrock title.
