Fan since the first game, love it
As a big fan of LoF1 and 2 I really love this one. I see it more as a sequel than a proper remake though; as a remake, I think it did change too much from the originals, but as a sequel/remake hybrid? It's an amazing addition.

The Definitive Walking Horror Experience
Easily a must play for fans of the first two games and those who have never played them. We get the first two games remade from the ground up in UNREAL 5, with alot of the fluff either cut out or streamlined for a better experience. We also get some new stories, one focusing on the wife of the Painter & another focusing on a Writer, which explains how the first two games stories are connected and expanding on the universe. Throw in the upcoming new free chapter focusing on the Director & the fact all of this is priced at less than $50 AUD; you get alot of bang for your buck. Combat was also introduced to try and evolve beyond just being a walking sim. With mixed results, it works but is painfully barebones. The environments are fantastic & tout a genuinely creepy atmosphere that will get under your skin, and nothing else. Yeah it's disappointing that the game is never outright scary, it always gets you ready for a scare but can never go all the way. At least it's still an enjoyable experience.

Forced 16:9 Aspect Ratio
The game literally cannot be played in widescreen. At wider resolutions it forces black bars on the side to set a 16:9 ratio. I'm guessing having a wider aspect ratio would ruin some of their jumpscares or something, but it's a damn shame. Also, like altair777 said, the HDR implementation is not the best; in fact, it's probably the worst implementation of HDR I've ever seen. Refunded as a result. They also changed main parts of the original story for "modern audiences"; which is never a good thing.
