Really interesting to see this russian adventure (rpg). Not just because farting HoMM in face but contains a certain morality. Allright I know pretty much game do the same, but that is different somehow. A bit naive a bit childish, but if world were much similar to this game this would be a better place. I hope you guys - girls get the point!
There's no denying that King's Bounty resemble Heroes of Might & Magic a lot, but it also offers much more to that. HOMM gives you mission maps with all the same elements scattered over them. I always got bored after a couple of missions - the world felt distant and repetitive. King's Bounty, on the contrary, has one big world with new things, characters and creatures always waiting to be discovered. It feels much cozier in the KB universe. There's a plot line that you follow constantly, not just in the movies between the missions. Add to that a good share of humour and funny allusions. To me it's the best game in the genre.
First of all, i have seen many reviews that claim this to be a HOMM clone or a King's Bounty remake. This game is neither clone nor remake but a sequel to the original King's Bounty. Game installed flawlessly on my laptop and runs well with only drops in frame rate when attempting to equip items. haven't played enough to give away the entire story but at least it didn't start off with a quest that you have to complete in a set amount of time or lose the game entirely as in the original. Glad to see that they gave skill trees and inventory to help customize your hero. I thoroughly enjoyed the original on both Sega Genesis and the Amiga 500, but hated the grid of code you needed to resume playing on the genesis, which hardly ever worked anyway. That being said this release is quite refreshing to me, glad GoG posted it even though i wouldn't qualify this release as an *old* game, thank you.
I realy like this game, something not common for me since I don't usualy like TBS games, but this one, I put 80 hrs and i plan to give more playthorugh en the future with other chars.
Graphics: Not the lastest, but the art style fill the rest.
Audio: Not many songs, but all of them are pretty good.
As a newcomer to Kings Bounty and strategy games as a whole lately, this game is top quality fun. This game is not a slog to get through unlike Kings Bounty 2. Everything is very close on the map, and no space is wasted. Upbeat fantasy soundtrack, a plethora of interesting units, and genuine dialogue makes this one of my favorite strategy RPG's to play. It also runs well on any PC, and you can download a simple zip file to make the screen use modern aspect ratios properly. Overall, a great game at a fantastic price.
