Fun until you break it

Suffers from the same problem Defense Grid did: it's a fun experience until you realize that the best strategy 90% of the time is to just spam the basic gun tower. In Defense Grid is was machine gun towers. In Kingdom Rush it's archer towers upgraded to rangers. At that point they become the best dps tower in the game with AoE damage AND enemy freezing ability way better than the tower that's supposed to fulfill that role (barracks). I was tearing my hair out at some levels until I just spammed ranger towers and breezed through the entire game.

Too expensive

Kingdom Rush is probably the best tower defense flash game out there, but the content doesnt worth the nearly 10 bucks at all. Just play the free flash version, which is pretty much exactly the same...

Pretty and stale

+ Music + Visually pleasant - self-repeating -not much of variety -Tower AI is... dumb as a sack of rocks -only handful of upgrades, 2 spell ?! Don't waste your money, just play the flash game.

A Very Hard Game (And Not in a Good Way)

Kingdom Rush's extraordinarily high level of difficulty outweighs most of the positives in an otherwise good (if standard) tower defense title. Beating a level has less to do with what strategy to choose and more to do with how many upgrades you've earned by going back and playing older missions on higher difficulties, meaning most levels are simply unbeatable without having cleared as many missions as possible on the highest difficulty. And even then the game is murderously hard. This is the only game I've ever played where I've gotten to a point where the difficulty prohibits me from progressing any further--and that was only half-way through the campaign.

"Rush" is the name of the game

Disclaimer: This is a review of the original Flash version. Proper positioning of towers play a big role, but not as big as your dexterity with the mouse in later levels, both for making split-second upgrading decisions and deploying reinforcements to hold off the enemy army, effectively replacing strategy with twitchiness.
