Welcome to Mega-City One, a city of over four hundred million people and everyone of them a potential criminal. Stretching the length of the 22nd century American eastern seaboard, Mega-City One is the most dangerous city on Earth, for it is calculated that one serious crime takes place every second of every day. So dangerous, it demands a special breed of law enforcer.
Here, there are no police, no trials and no juries, only the Judges. It takes fifteen years to train a Judge for life on the streets of Mega-City One. Fifteen years of iron discipline, rigid self-control and concentrated aggression. Most feared and respected of all Judges is Joe Dredd, a man vested with the power of instant sentencing, a man whose court is the streets and whose word is the Law!
Multiplayer notice: The game's multiplayer servers have been taken offline and the only multiplayer option available is LAN.
Become the most famous and badass law enforcer of the grim future
Riding the Dredd movie kick and this game helps fill that niche of being a bad ass with a lawgiver and being able to play the role of Dredd. Can't beat a sale price of $2.39. Graphics are dated, game play a little stiff, but over all a great experience.
How the producers of the pretty good Rogue Trooper and the superlative Aliens vs Predator (1999 version, haven't played the 2010 version) produced this is beyond me. Graphics ok, but plain, flat textures. Short, really easy. Some bloke dressed as Dredd shooting zombies, ho hum. Buy it to lol at the "ragdoll physics" of the shot enemies. I think this was something they did on the weekend when it was raining too much to go to the pub.
I've read my fair share of Judge Dredd and I can easily make the claim that this game really does a deservice to the old chap. I mean Judge Dredd vs Judge Death was an epic encounter in the 4 color serials but this boring and uninspired effort took that awesome basis for a great game and well... let's just say if GOG starts adding more of these BOGs they are going to get sued for false advertising.
Dont waste your time with this when there's plenty of true gems out there that deserve that and your money. Spend it there and if you want your fix of Dredd the comics do that just fine.
Horrible graphics, sounds, combat, and is just overall a really bad generic poor feeling game. It is not fun at all. Looks and feels like a game from 2001. So awful. The guns suck. Shooting things sucks, i.e. the gameplay is "Dredd"ful. Jump button rarely works. No widescreen resolutions. One of the worst games I have ever played, and I am an oldschool gamer. I love nostalgia trips but this one just gave me nightmares. It is badly generic and horrible in every way. Shooting things is so laughably bland and unsatisfying.
