Iratus: Lord of the Dead tweaks the team tactics formula of Darkest Dungeon but cuts down on the management aspect to focus firmly on moving quickly from combat to combat. It lacks the narrative flair or emotional punch of its inspiration but makes up for it with satisfying tactical options and a balanced challenge level.

Iratus: Lord of the Dead is dark, grim and great fun. It's not perfect but it provides an interesting spin on gameplay that will keep players interested for many runs.

Wants my personal info.....then crashes
I started this game on my mac and it immediately wanted access to my calendar which I denied. It sat there loading for a min or two then wanted access to my photos, again I denied it. Another two mins and its still trying to load and now its asking access to my contact list I am slightly disturbed at this point as I can't come up with a legit reason it wants this sort of info. Three more mins of loading and I get to the main menu and none of the buttons work nor can I exit the game! Shoddy programing seems to be rampant these days but I did get this game for free so I guess Im not quite as angry as I would be if I had actually paid for this. What really gets me though is feeling like the game is trying to spy on me. As far as I can tell it is virus free but I still would recommend staying away from it.

Better than Darkest Dungeon
Iratus has the graphics, the music and the gameplay better than Darkest Dungeon. The gameplay is on 4-5 maps under 10 hours, you can't go back on the map and the death of your minions is permanent. On easy mode you can do Quick Save. For all the achievements you must replay on the same location file, ex: Use the first save location to play/replay only on Easy (Cakewalk) , second save location play/replay only on Medium (More Pain) and the last to play/replay only on Hard (Good Always Wins). The Extreme Hard (Eternal Harvest) you may try to play on the last two locations. In time, you will unlock all the characters at Humonarium for Easy, Medium and Hard locations. You can't unlock Humonarium at one mode by playing other mode. Good Game!

GOOD but not on GOG
Game is good. Yes it has similar mechanics with Darkest Dungeon. But I found them less RNG dependant. More tactics less luck. Game focuses on the basics, I like that. Unfortunately GOG does not update the game as often as Steam does, even after noticing. I'm thinking about buying it again on Steam (on sale until may 30. - just saying)

Lesser than Darkest Dungeon
Fairly solid if significantly more boring version of Darkest Dungeon. While the entire game loop is faster and slimmer, since unlike DD you return back to base and can replenish your crew after each battle, this also makes the game much, much easier and removes almost the entire sense of dread and suspension as well as any strategic overlay to the tactical battles. Add to that the hideous humor and it gets cringe worthy. It did not succeed in capturing my interest enough to complete.
