Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gunplay and skull crushing close combat. Great Themes, Poor Gameplay
The main reason I got this game for it’s fabulous themes (having to do with enjoying violence in video games). However the gameplay is frustrating and repetitive. The controls are also quite awkward. Also this is NOT an action game, it’s a stealth game, which admittedly it is very hard to make a good stealth game.

Hotline Miami is Brutal
In terms of difficulty this game is pretty hardcore. It's got that Super Meat Boy quality of continuously retrying levels. The reason I point this out is that, so far people have been hailing the game as perfect, but if you want reasonable challenge the game could turn you off with its early difficulty.
