Was about to buy...
Sorry I can't support the intrusive spyware...there are other games similar to this that don't do this so I'll pass on this and possibly games from Sony where they try to pull this crap.

Good game
Great story line, very well written. The apocalyptic setup fits well the current times... and it was released before Corona even Good graphics, nothing to complain, but I expected a bit more of a 2017 game. Fun gameplay, enjoyed the mechanics. I found the potions annoying to use, but I guess this is one of the few thing where the PS game lacks a bit the comfort you'd expect as a PC user. In the long run the game lacked a bit of variability... it ended up being too much grind... another machine down, another mountain / elevator shaft to jump up. They could have added a few more puzzles to the jumpy bits, more weapons, more variety of enemies, more ways to be sneaky, ... its not like an open world with lots of things to do; You run around, there are machines you need to get past at every corner, you do sidequests which are greatly written, but basically mean killing machines. It is fun at the start -- as I said great mechanics -- but had its limits. Overall I can highly recommend it. I really enjoyed playing it. On the downside, I was glad when I finished it. Havent play the expansion yet and most likely will not for a while.

Great combat.
The strongest point of the game is combat. It's polished and well thoughtout. You feel well rewarded after landing a headshot, or making a timely dodge. The environment in the game is beautiful too. And this makes wandering from one quest to the other not so boring. The main issue I have with the game is the storyline. After like an hour into the game, you can easily predict the things Aloy is going to unravel. I'd say 60 to 70% of the story is predictable and I didn't find much excitement in learning the things I already knew. There are also other smaller issues with the game. I'll try my best to not spoil anything. Weapon/outfit upgrades: I found the upgrade system to be very weak. You will never find any new weapons or outfits killing enemies. They have to be purchased from merchants. Even then most of the new weapons do not offer a noticable improvement over your existing weapon. Also most outfits are purely cosmetic and doesn't give you any benefits on their own. Very strange. 'Horse riding' : Riding system is annoying. If you are not pressing sprint, your mount moves at the pace of a snail and when pressing sprint, it takes off. Also there is a strange delay between sprinting and normal walk for the mount. This makes it extremely annoying when trying to pick up resources while sitting on the mount. Also your mount is not permanent and it will not be allowed to enter human camps. If you exit through the opposite end of the camp, your mount won't follow you and there is no way to summon it over a huge distance. Clunky inventory UI: This is a console game ported to PC. As a result the UI mainly consisits of huge square pieces that represent items. Something that would have taken a simple drag and drop instead will take clicks

Game crashes at start. solution found
The game didn't start and the error message always appeared: "Unfortunately, the game crashed. Would you like to help us fix the problem by sending us a crash report?". (Translation German - English) While researching on the internet I found a software called "Special K" with which you can start the game without any problems.

I'd give this game 6 stars if possible!
Lets make it short: - You like epic stories, that unfold while playing? - You like big robots? - You like a bit of Assassins Creed (but normal AC games are just too repetitive)? - You like role playing games with tougher and tougher enemies, getting better weapons and leveling up? - You like when the setting (the big robots!) does make perfectly sense? If only some of these points have been checked by you: Get it! You won't regret it.
