awesome game and drm free like all games should be. Will buy most games on Gog for this sole reason and don't mind paying extra if I have too. Can always wait for a deal.
Long story short: get it if you haven't already.
This game is a real treat. Having seen it on sale a few times but with mixed reviews I finally caved in and got it on the recent sale. I'm so glad I did!
This game is simply put one of a kind. It's like taking
- Far Cry Primal
- Crysis
- Fallout
- Skyrim
and a brand new genius and well thought out storytelling and putting it in a blender. Everything about this game is top notch, absolutely fantastic!

I can't find any faults so far. As many states, the beginning 30-60 minutes can be a bit "slow" but it truly steps up from there. This is the game I wished I knew about a long time ago. I've spent countless hours modding Skyrim SE into perfection, and this game just does it even better than that.
There's a true sense of mystery, tons of lore, hours of gameplay, an open world, machines/killer robots /factions mixed in with norse mythology... there's something for everyone.
The game looks amazing, one of the best looking games I have ever played. This port is alos very well optimized and runs fantastically well on my 3060Ti with all settings to Ultra (1080p).
Don't have second thoughts on this, it is truly an instant classic with the sequel hopefully coming to PC soon. People who have played that one on PS5 says it's even better than Zero Dawn. Can't wait to play it, I absolutely love this game!
I expected more or less a standard open world game using the "Ubisoft-Formula". While this is more or less exactly that, I found myself captivated by the experience. I played it with mouse and keyboard, since I hate controllers and it felt natural. The world is beautiful, the story is great and the art direction is on point. I played for around 50 h but I could've spend even more time in it. There are side activities, but you are not required to do them. I typically don't enjoy these very standard open world games, but in this case everything is just done so well. Combat feels fluid and the machine creatures can be quite dangerous. It's just a very well rounded game.
this game is witcher 3 levels of fun. my pc is not the highest end (minimum requirements) so i run into the issues of occasional crashes and also 20 to 25 minutes waiting for the game to render shadows at the beginning of each play. and also sometimes 2 to 3 minutes waiting on load screens. but i tolerate it all because it's like a monster hunter but with a better plot. the mechanics of stealth, sniping, and melee are easy to pick up after some practice and then become very satisfying. killing bandits and machines is as enjoyable as taking out the orcs in shadow of mordor. i keep comparing this game to others i've played because it combines many of my favorite tropes. there's something for everybody: modding, loot, collectables, and video/audio/text pickups to help provide background story and atmosphere. this is one game i actually played start to finish and there was enough variety in every playthrough that i didn't get so bored that i switched to another game before coming back to this one weeks later. it was designed for the ps4 but i appreciate that it got ported more or less in a functional state to pc. the graphics are top notch on my wimpy pc so i expect that it's absolutely majestic on a high end one.
Horizon is absolutely great! Beautiful world building, great story and you need to learn and adapt when it comes to combat. Really love this game.
I also wish I could turn of data collection completely, but they don't collect more than others and only about their own games. Really not such a big deal others try to make out of it.
I don't get the criticism when it comes to GoG and the DRM free guarantee when it comes to the data collecting.
DRM free means, you don't need activation and there's no check for ownership for running a game. It does NOT mean, the game won't connect to the internet or sends data... GoG absolutely holds contract here.
