Not as big disappointment as some think
While heroes 3 definetely has better mod support and is in better shape than fourth part it's not a bad game as some think, I always return to this game for different experience whenever I get bored of heroes3

not as bad as everyone says
people coming from the previous installment (homm3) really don't like this one. I can understand that because Homm3 is a masterpiece and homm4 is trying to do something a little different. I personally love both and i think this one is overhated. The gameplay takes some interesting departures from homm3 that I think are interesting and unique. Overall, play both homm3 and homm4 but know that homm4 is a different and unique iteration on the same theme as homm3 but it is not a straight sequel.

Bravest of all HOMM
With different unique features, this part of the series is the most outstanding. Most don´t like it, but i love it. The Studio really tried to going further with the mechanic, what gives you more flexibilities and more intersting choices. Also the themes of the factions are well designed and give you a glimpse of daoistic world view. Balancing is not good. Even though fmo it´s the bravest and so one of the best of all HoMM-games.

Good Classic
it's not like the HOMM 3 or 5, it's a focus on hero caharacters more then on armies game. The game has a really good balance between the factions and the campaigns are good aswell
