A game that expects you to look harder.

Judging this game on its gameplay mechanis or comparing it to other action/adventure games doesn't make a whole lot of sense and you might notice that this approach makes up for most of its negative reviews. The game demands and rewards you for trying to understand it and its main character, and quickly had me engrossed in trying to make sense of how everything fits together. The game is extremely spoiler prone, so if any of this sounds at all intriguing it might be a good idea to avoid reading too much about the game and simply play it and see for yourself.

Terrifying. Thrilling. Amazing.

This game is such a work of art. The portrayal of schizophrenia and mental illness is so well done that you will be experiencing the same emotions that those with these illnesses often feel. The game sets you up to get into Senua's mind in a way that very few games have been able to do. If you're a fan of films like Black Swan or Donnie Darko, this is a must play for you. Senua is such an amazing character and you will undoubtedly relate to her experiences in such an immersive way. Go play this game. Now.

fantastic game

Great story, immersive atmosphere, unique insight into psychosis, and all that... I was surprised, however, with how much I liked the combat. It was fluid, responsive, and fun! All around great game.

Makes you unconfortable, in a good way!

I love how the game has no tutorial, no distraction just straight into the game, the only out of character thing in the game is that [spoiler]you are greeted with a message about permadeath to create tension[/spoiler] Voices constantly speaking to you, disturbing visuals with the previously mentioned tension increasing system, makes you uncomfortable, tense, and that's not a bad thing, it's part of the story of the game, this just shows how they achieved what they wanted with the game. Because of this I'm taking breaks while playing, for me it's not a one sit game, even though it's not very long. Also, I need to mention the out of this world voice acting, it's just phenomenal. And even though only an indie studio, Ninja Theory, made this game it has the best character model I've ever seen in a video game. The one thing I was afraid of is the combat, but turns out it's really fun, especially if you don't try to abuse it with constant dodging and stuff like that but make it fun for yourself. The story telling is great, the puzzles are creative.

This game will blow away your Mind!

Hellblade is a game where you can feel the Indie heart inside of it! The psycothic feeling of Senua Disease will drow your mind little by little and you will keep playing it in order to discover more about the story and what's behind it! It's absolutely NOT A GAME ABOUT COMBAT, but it's about the story and the mind illness. But also if the combat isn't nothing revolutionary i still enjoy it: the combat system feels a little bit like Rocksteady Batman series but without any HUD (yes, all the game is hudless and no UI). The puzzles are most of times simple but not annoying at all (and sometimes you will lose your mind in order to understand how to solve an enigma) The graphic...no words about it: Marvelous (i love the sea waves on the shore) The price is very low for the quality of this product!
