You can play cross platform, but only with a random stranger. You can't find your friends so the feature is meaningless.
It's also not the game from The Witcher 3. They made it too complicated to try to sell microtransactions and in the process, ruined the game. Don't call it Gwent if it's not Gwent. 0 stars, and I'm going to print out a paper deck to play the real game instead.
Great card game, people who enjoy games like hearthstone and other card games will like it as well as the people who played it in the Witcher 3 even though it plays a bit different. My main problem with it is the wierd damage/boost system in the "ranked" (seasonal) part, it needs work or to be taken out all together, it noticably will put people at a advantage or disadvantage as the match plays out, it ruins the fun a bit and makes me not want to play it because you can loose only because you are constantly damaged while the other player gets boosted almost every turn. I love a lot of the improvements on it from the beta but that system as well as the coin flip system somewhat ruin some of the skill aspect and make it more about luck.
Do you like exclusively netdecking vs people that have paid a fortune for their cards (ultimately losing anyways)?
Do you like reading ambiguous text on cards that you only learn when you constantly fail with them, having to google 'what the hell does this card even do'? Thankfully there are many results since most of the cards make no sense.
Do you like not knowing what half of your interface means because they decided not to have mouseover tooltips? I have almost 100 hours played and I still don't know what half of the UI images on my screen mean.
Do you like a game that puts style over substances? Big flashy animations instead of being able to just play your damn cards. Having to wait for some animation to end is just dumb. Imagine playing an actual card game IRL, and every single time some asshat would do some grand gesture, 360, cartwheel, etc, before playing a card. It's stupid.
Every time I play this, I play like 3-5 games and lose all of them. The entire best of 3 ruins this game. First hand, you're just trying to get them to waste as many cards as possible. If they go first and have a strategem, you're looking to waste their cards and then pass as soon as they play something good (and lose the turn). Next turn, they will autopass so you waste 1 card to win that round. Then it comes down to the third round, when both have sandbagged their best cards, and you win basically if the RNG of drawing for the first 2 hands gave you enough good cards to win the 3rd round. All of this nonsense so you can be 'different' I guess? What's the point of having 2 dud rounds just so you can say you have best of threes. All of these things are infinitely frustrating to a new player, not knowing what cards actually do, not knowing what interface objects mean, not winning any games because matchmaking is nonexistent.
Need Turkish language support because Gwent comin' for Android and you have too many Witcher fans in Turkey. If you want to achieve success in Turkey market Turkish language support is so necessary. Or Legend of Runeterra will crush you in Play Store. I just wanted to remind you :)
