Strategic card game

Gwent is card game very unique. The strategy is not only based on the dekbuilding but also on how you're able to spread your cards in different rounds: you draw a limited number of cards during a game and you want to win 2 rounds (out of 3). Going all in can be risky. Letting the opponent win a round can also be risky. There's a fine balance to find. Artworks are also beautiful, one of the best looking card game on the market. And can be played purely F2P: in one year I managed to get a complete collection and I'm now just waiting for future expansions.

Best card game I ever played

Gwent: Homecoming is the best change ever for a game. I am really really happy that Homecoming happened, and I look forward for new content, new expansions, new cards. Keep up the great work, Homecoming is the best thing ever happened to Gwent.

Nice Card Game

It is nice refresh after that carton graphic in HS. Game still have some minor flaws or areas that should be improved (eg. better card history that show interactions - sometimes I do not get what happened, turn remaining counter in row effects card..) but in general it is nice game. There are a lot of complains that people do not like the changes after homecoming. For me, I started to play AFTER Homecoming because in beta I do not liked that crude layout. Having solid card base is also easier to have here in comparison to HS.

I played the beta for a while and I actually like the changes they made to the final version.

Homecoming is different but not bad

A lot of these reviews seem to take issue with all of the changes they made. Gwent homecoming is good, I enjoy it way more than the beta, and if these negative reviews are keeping you from trying I say just give it a try. It's free so why not, it's pretty different from other card games so it might take some getting used to. The only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars are just a few easily fixed minor issues like with animation speeds and a couple cards that I think need some work. But all of that can be fixed.
