a great game
i remember having this on the ps2 i wish they had done a follow up but a great game all the same

- New and savage ways to punish: Stealthily sneak up and attack your enemies, use them as cover, stab and shoot them. Blast away and watch the aftermath, shoot guns out of enemy hands, or destroy with dynamite.

Average port from the late PS2-era
GUN is an enjoyable game from the mid-2000s, when a good number of PS2 games were ported from consoles to PC. The graphics were dated at the time of its release, but talking about old games this is something we can forgive. The real problem is the tiny and empty environment compared to its contemporaries. The mission design is simple and the story is forgottable. It is not that anything is bad, but that compared to its peers this game does everything on the average level. The only saving grace of the game that we do not have many western themed games, so if somebody is unable to run RDR2, then this is one of the few alternatives. Interestingly this is not something that I would call an open world game, though there are a couple of side missions, and it is possible to ride across the land. It is just the world is really so tiny that it is difficult to enjoy the open part of it.

Before Red Dead, There Was This
This is the classic Western that paved the way for games like *Red Dead Redemption*. It absolutely deserved a sequel—and really, it should have been a full-blown franchise. The storyline was strong enough to support a game-to-movie adaptation even today. The voice cast is iconic, featuring a who's who of Hollywood talent: Thomas Jane, Lance Henriksen, Ron Perlman, Tom Skerritt, and Kris Kristofferson. It’s the kind of title that a studio like Digital Eclipse could brilliantly restore and reintroduce to a new generation. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the Western genre.

Excellent FPS Western
The graphics are a bit old, and it's a console port. So, the world has alot of flat surfaces, and there is almost zero ground clutter. And there are lots of brief loading screens (but they load quickly enough to never be annoying). The voice acting is good, and the story is very good, very much like a scripted movie. Everything you might expect from a classic western movie is here. It has a little bit of open-world to explore, mostly to look for gold spots that you can mine for extra money. Gameplay was as a bit tricky when I first started playing, but the game quickly gets easier after you get used to the controls and earn a few upgrades. There were a couple missions in the game that I had trouble completing, but eventually figured them out after several attempts. The ending boss fight is very hard, and annoying. I had to watch a video to get some ideas, and it was still hard even after that. Many, many re-loads to finally get it done. Overall, the game is great though. I had alot of fun. I highly recommend this game!
