One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.
Grim Fandango Remastered includes:
Repainted, hi-res character textures
New, dynamic lighting
Classic score re-recorded with a full live orchestra
Sorry Tim, NO Money from me in the future.
I have the original game here and after the Double Fine desaster,
Tim Schaefer or Double Fine never get any cent from me in the future.
There are more talentet Indy-Studios which deserves and needs the money more.
This is like a dream, 15 years ago i believed Grim fandango is a piece of art, best game ever, after 15 years i Still believe the same.
still keeping old CD's :)
thanks you everyone.
If you do not want to invest into GoG Galaxy, then this game comes as two files, one of which is a *.bin.
After I installed a free software to mount *.biin files, I got the message that windows can't access this disc. Such a pain!
(This is from my experience as a first time player circa 1998 and frankly this remake hasn't done anything to help its glaring problems) Grim Fandango was never a good game, although it looks great, sounds, has a great sense of style and a lot of character, you will NEVER OUT FIGURE THE PUZZLES! without a strategy guide to hand, I would even go as far to say they are obnoxious, you just have to hope you click on the right object with the right item at the right time. You obtain items you wont need and will forget about until a couple of hours into it and there is not sense of rhythm to anything you do.
Its like Metal Gear Solid 2 (loose reference there), where the first part of the game has the most love put into it then it swoops down hill in quality, as soon as you get out of the first mission area the game fall apart. Expected a climatic ending? NO!, you get a number 9 ticket slapped in your hand so fast you can almost hear Tim Schafer himself saying "There's not funding left, QUICK end the game now!" This game is far to over praised for its own good and would probably work better as a mini series as it has great characters and paints an intriguing picture. You might as well play minesweeper whilst pausing it once in a while to watch your favorite film. No thanks!
