A build containing the Union Patch is now live in GOG Galaxy and via offline installers. The classic version of Gothic is available on "Vanilla" public branch in GOG Galaxy and as an offline installer in "Extras" section.

Impressive for all time
I've been playing since its release until today. This game changed RPG productions forever. Gothic is surprising and interesting. The playing technique is unique.

Clunky controls but gold underneath.
Gothic 1 is an amazing game, sure the controls might not have hold up to this day but the amount of content and hidden things that you can find in this world and how they all interact, thats the true gold of Gothic. I freaking love it!

A gem of a classic!
This game ranks high on my list of best RPGs! It is consise, doesn't hold your hand at all, beats you down to the dirt, but also raises you up when you learn the tricks of it. The story is great, even with the lacking content of the later chapters. The factions are awesome (New Camp is best camp) and the atmosphere is really something else. Gothic 2 has the mechanics and the world building, but Gothic 1 has the best atmosphere, charm and story. Just a blast from start to finish!

Does not Launch
Can't get it to work. Union fix version and english hotfix, game won't launch. I'm using Windows 11. Downloaded today. I'm sure it's a great game, just can't get it to work. Black screen and nothing.
