Surprisingly well playable with patches

While I have played Gothic 1 countless times over the years, I was surprised how well it runs, as long as you apply the correct patches (Union, Community patches+, GD3D11...). Looks miles better than in the days of old. The game itself is still very athmospheric, with straight-forward RPG elements and a well-told, though granted not very original story. Well worth giving it a try if you never played it!

This game or whole series to be precise is one of the truly best games made. Not for graphics or system but because its unique world and style.

Gothic - the One of Chosen

Gothic is the absolutely one of my Chosen RPG games. On my personal Throne is the absolutely GOD the ALBION game of German Blue Byte and Gothic could be the second God.
