Before man climbed down from the trees to shop in megastores and drink cappuccino, before the Earth wadded itself into a cool blue ball, before the Moon even existed, there was the Island. The Island, a massive fragment of a long-lost planet, hurtling blindly through space. Upon the surface of this paradise wanders the giant, Kabuto. Little does Kabuto know that the Island was home to others before him. In the oceans, there dwells a matriarchal race called the Sea Reapers. In their pride, they created Kabuto, as a defense against intruders. But Kabuto became conscious of himself, his loneliness, his pain - and he went berserk.
Space castaways, the Meccs piloted their ship through space, looking for their missing friends. If you haven’t guessed already, they ended up on the Island. Faced with yet another unscheduled layover while on their way to Planet Majorca, the Meccs decide to make the best of their temporary home. Just their luck - the natives are already embroiled in their own little war, and the Mecc visitors are most unwelcome!
Meccaryns... Sea Reapers... Kabuto... One island isn’t big enough for the three of them.
Three unique races, each with a totally different gameplay experience
Bawdy humor that will keep you laughing throughout the game

Giants Citizen Kabuto is a hard game to review, don't get me wrong it's fantastic but not really like anything i've played before.
The graphics were really nice for it's time and haven't aged too badly, still very playable. Gameplay is challenging with good pacing (each mission manages to introduce something new). I absolutely love the humor though. Just a very charming game.
Also recommend downloading the (unofficial) 1.5 patch as it has nice graphical improvements and some bug fixes. The GOG version at time of this review is version 1.4.
Before Internet became a thing, and long before Steam took over, computers couldn't handle that many polygons at once and at that time some amazing games were made.
One of the games that marked my childhood was, you guessed, Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
There was a games retailer, Fullgames (apparently they closed around 2015), which sold the games with magazines for around $5. Once I found this magazine with Giants: Citizen Kabuto in a bookstore and bought it. Hours were spent there!
Time went on and the game didn't work anymore on modern systems, until GOG published in in they catalogue. I never bought a game so fast.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto is an unique experience in FPS games, with its dubious humour, sometimes quite challenging levels, and stunning visuals (taking into account its release date, please).
I recommend this game for anyone with a little spare time in their hands. It's a gem!
A memorable trip through a vast landscape of spectacular ideas, excellently executed, tight controls, supported by creative character and set design, great voice work, and a buoyant soundtrack by Jeremy Soule.
Remember to remove the last minute Delphi quickfix by going to the /Giants – Citizen Kabuto/Bin" directory and delete "arpfix.gzp" :]
I loved this game I still have a version of it on CD, I would really love to see the Polish dubbed version on GOG, it had great humor and kept me entertained through all the game. Kudos, although it's an old game it's aging really gracefully.
This game is a classic! Lots of great humour, action, real time strategy, base building and loveable characters. Many hours of fun. You need to play this game.
