Before man climbed down from the trees to shop in megastores and drink cappuccino, before the Earth wadded itself into a cool blue ball, before the Moon even existed, there was the Island. The Island, a massive fragment of a long-lost planet, hurtling blindly through space. Upon the surface of this paradise wanders the giant, Kabuto. Little does Kabuto know that the Island was home to others before him. In the oceans, there dwells a matriarchal race called the Sea Reapers. In their pride, they created Kabuto, as a defense against intruders. But Kabuto became conscious of himself, his loneliness, his pain - and he went berserk.
Space castaways, the Meccs piloted their ship through space, looking for their missing friends. If you haven’t guessed already, they ended up on the Island. Faced with yet another unscheduled layover while on their way to Planet Majorca, the Meccs decide to make the best of their temporary home. Just their luck - the natives are already embroiled in their own little war, and the Mecc visitors are most unwelcome!
Meccaryns... Sea Reapers... Kabuto... One island isn’t big enough for the three of them.
Three unique races, each with a totally different gameplay experience
Bawdy humor that will keep you laughing throughout the game

Just a great, quirky game that fortunately runs very well on my Win 10 computer. Be sure to patch it to the latest version (1.501) to enable the DX9 renderer and squash a lot of bugs.
This game looks visually stunning for a game from 2000, the lighting made this game age well despite the low poly environments. The game started off strong with the Meccaryn (Mecc) campaign which had a good and exciting gameplay. Then we get to the sea reaper campaign which shook the gameplay formula up a bit with less weapon variety but lots of spells. The story started of strong with the tutorial part but then it started going down hill when you reach the ice world as here on out it was mostly just base building missions. Along with that there were janky Reaperski missions which took up half of the entire campaign with 4 races, this was the lowest point in the game. It then ended with another base building mission which looked rushed cause it lacked detail and afterwards a super easy boss fight. Finally we get to play as Kabuto and this was a compilation of half baked ideas. To the game's credit it is fun playing as the big bad guy eating and smashing everything but that gets boring quickly. One of its features is the offspring which are suppose to help you in fights but their are really useless cause they don't attack enemies on their own, you have to tell them what to attack and where to move and without your constant input they do nothing, imagine trying to do that in the middle of a fight, you might as well do the killing yourself, they that useless. They don't even destroy buildings. I have to say, the gameplay gimmick in this one is finding a magnifying glass to destroy a ice wall and that is at least better than the races. The story is good and it has hilarious cutscenes which makes it a must play for that alone and the soundtrack is epic. The world looks so lived in, at least the island looking ones, can't say the same for the Mars looking ones and ice wastelands. Overall the game is decent but very flawed.
Ok, I downloaded GOG about 10 days ago now for Skyrim AE halfoff without the issues it has on Steam, bought and stayed for Cyberpunk cause that was ALSO half off, and then this was on my homepage. I am currently downloading it but LETS BE CLEAR.
This game is AMZING. Funny writing, well voiced for a game from over 22 years ago, fun and EXTREMELY varied gameplay. We got FPS, actions, sections where we play as a Kaiju, and so much more. I will truly be ever grateful for GOG and them giving me the ability to play a game that I've loved for 20+ years and the amazing selection.
And if it wasn't clear, 5/5 stars for this game. If you're going to be upset about the graphics being old looking, why'd you buy it? The rest is unbelievably fun
Giants is without a doubt one of the best Interplay or anyone else has ever put out. The game features three unique races with three unique playstyles, plenty of artistic style, humour and tight controls.
The graphics hold up fairly well and this is a game you'll WANT to tell your friends about.
This is the best place to pick it up to with full XP compatibility.
Do yourself a favour and pick this one up today.
