You become the Ghost Master in a unique witches brew of strategy, adventure, and ghoulish sim. Your sole purpose is to frighten the mortals right out of town.
Ghost Master features:
14 unique scenarios - ghoulish mysteries with multiple solutions; over 40 spirit types to command - from horrible cenobites like phantoms to hordes of spiders; 11 environments - ghostly atmospheres based on films of classic; horrors such as "Blair Witch" or "Evil Dead" and up to 30 separate characters per level for extended gameplay options.
A great mix between tactical strategy and adventure game

I played through this game several times. It is one of my favorites. It is funny in itself and you can have great fun with it.
I read in the comments that some people have a hard time with some of the missions, but honestly, you need to try multiple times if something is not right. My hint would be to pay attention to the people you are haunting. The behavior changes with their state.
NOTE: I don't know about the GOG version 'cause I only played it on Steam yet.
It is a old game with old graphics, but still an excellent game. I played it when it was first released and I was hooked. The old style key combinations you can easily be changed. Also the even with the old graphic, the gameplay is very entertaining that you can pretty ignore that it is so old. If you want a game with humour and that is pure entertainment this is the game for you.
Ghost Master is a pretty unique game where you manage ghosts to scare people or accomplish scenario goals.
Some clankiness is present but I guess it is part of the charm.
If you enjoy weird obscure 2000s games get this one on sale.
Back when this game was soon to be released I managed to get my hands on a demo of it. I played it, falling in love and buying it as soon as I possibly could.
The game itself is a well made RTS, but not on the traditional basebuilding sense. this real time is a complete neighbourhood of challanges and puzzles giving players the power to actually do something unheard of previously and control the ghosts.
On first glance , it looks a lot like a strange sims game, however from the first level it comes alive with stratergy. You are the unlikely leader of a swarm of ghosts, controlling everything from tv destorying gremilins to headless horsemen. With a intricate upgrade system allowing you to tailor ghosts to their highest ablities crossed with a cartoony hilarious undertone this story allows you to be the creaper. Hoards of unique ablities raising fear, belief or instanity allows you to truely perfect your scare tatics.
The game itself has very few bugs and a charming set of puzzles to unlock new minons. This game is a unheard of classic and will hopefully find new life at GOG's
also, for extra fun, check out the few mods that are online, such as my personal favorite allowing any new ghosts to be taken to old levels, a must have for any true fan.
Ghost Master is an amazing and addictive game that is every bit as delightful as classics like the Dungeon Master series. It's a pity they don't make them like they used to, because Ghost Master is a joy.
The graphics are really impressive, especially for the time, and the sound is a pleasure, with whimsical tunes and hilarious screams. The whole presentation really charms in every way.
One of the most enchanting parts of the game is the way it parodies classic films that every player will surely recognise. There are plenty of references, as well, that come from all genres, so it's always a fun time picking those out.
There are only a few things that might annoy in playing, but that's so with any game, even the highly-esteemed classics. Ghost Master deserves a spot in everyone's classic game library, and it should be given the love it deserves and has always deserved. It really is a masterpiece, and it's only a pity it didn't turn into the iconic franchise it deserved. It's the kind of game that unfortunately is rarely seen these days. But thanks to gog, we can enjoy it for pennies.
